I refuse to believe it. If he can do that then my setup would need 305 wide slicks.

 Quit trying to make me science. I’ve been out of school for a million years.

It's not about longevity, it's about the build quality. NGK plugs have a better build quality over Denso. I can't remember where I was reading about the comparison between the two, but they mentioned NGK had a thicker overall electrode and was just better built than the Denso. It makes sense because NGK is consumer tailored over Denso who makes products for the manufacturer to put in their stuff at the factory.

It's like the equal to running home builder grade flexible ducting over quality made Flexible ducting. Yeah it'll work, but the changes are in the efficiency rating in which the home builder grade stuff will be as minimal as possible just to pass inspections and testing to get the green light.

At 30K I wouldn't even worry about longevity, or surface build up between intervals. We are simply not running the plugs in there long enough to realistically have to worry about long term effects like those. What I am interested in personally is a quality spark output at all times... because if the spark is not quality, misfires, knocking, pinging, and all sorts of other stuff will happen, and I am not good with that at all.

What were you trying to match for Denso through NGK?

Yes but no one here at this juncture in the game is good with leaving their plugs in even until 50K. So when talking longevity the discussion is moot. At least everyone who has been educated on here is aware of that.

Outside of this thread. Well lord have mercy on their soul. :D

I would definitely be interested in a more stable spark output and a more complete burn. If there is merit to these claims by NGK, then I will GLADLY give them more money per plug everytime and do so with a fat grin on my face. Sort of like the kid from Mad TV. :D

I agree. Well put. A quality sparkle is very important to those that practice boost. I've also learned those dosing methanol should aim high. As in dont go too cool on plugs. I'm going to change my 24s to 22s shortly.

The direct replacement for the IKH24 plug IIRC only comes in the race lineup from NGK, and is advertised as an upgrade for specific applications in the S8 and R8 which carries that markets cost lol. IIRC the cost was $30ish dollars a plug.

Agreed on all other plugs. I’m guessing that there is a pretty wide tolerance for spark gap in the 1GR.

LOL I guess we will see if someone buys a set. My problem is I like to buy local. That way I can return the plugs if they arrive out of spec since that means they’ve probably been dropped at some point. Sadly local means Napa and they were a pain to order through even on the more common plugs I put an order in for.

The gap tolerance much like the oil grade tolerance is immense on these engines. You can run tree sap in this engine and it'll just keep on going.

Ahh yes. NGK's race lineup is the only one which comes in heat range 6 if you want Iridium.

Hence why I chose to run coppers out of a 4Runner which naturally come in a heat range of 6, or Denso equal to 22. NGK 7787. Cheap, gappable, reliable, and the most conductive out there outside of the unknown of Ruthenium. I am only running these to 30K or less so why bother shooting for Iridium or something insanely expensive if it wont even make it to 100K.

We consider expense. Plugs are the cheapest part of the truck. I gave up having a budget on my truck. I let it dictate my account.:spending:

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I cut the bottom of the rad support brace off and welded on some bent steel to make a bracket. The bracket hangs from the body mount on the passenger side. I cut the hoses and added two in line splices to extend the hoses over. I had enough electrical line. I tried to pics through the plate bumper and behind it. I did all this when it was off. I did flip the pump clams over though to move it up higher. You really put it anywhere just check the gravity feed from the reservoir works. Run it on acc to check.

It's your truck. Do as you like. If you like red calipers, go for it... since you will probably hear opinions on both sides.

    Quick question about snout cutting...

Is it worth spinning the snout cutting tool by hand (with a wrench) or don't bother and just use a drill and go slow?

Many on this forum looked at superchargers as a waste of money for years. Then it seemed right around the time toyota announced canceling the blower program, everyone wanted one.

Meanwhile back on xru, it has always been a different mindset.

So, do as you wish with your truck

I wanted black screws for my qwickchange pulley, which came only in a bulk package. I, therefore, have a surplus of black-oxide alloy-steel (nearly twice as strong as stainless steel) hex-drive flat-head screws I'm happy to make available. The pics don't really do justice, but here are before and after shots...

I can ship 7 screws (Good to have a couple of spares, right?) for $5. Drop me a PM, if you're interested in less bling...

NGK 7787’s are safe to run with a SC and are hot enough for meth?

They are equal to IKH-22's that came with the blower. I don't know that they are hot enough for the blower with meth. You must do your due diligence and research that.

If you read through the last few pages, there are at least three different NGK plugs that have specs very close to the IKH22. As for how hot the plugs need to be for methanol injection I have no clue, but I’d like to know the answer if you find a good explanation and plug.

My opinion is don’t turn a 30 minute job into three hours. Just use a drill. You can vary the seat pressure on the cutting tool. So I preferred light pressure high rpm. Keep in mind this is spinning you blower so it will suck air in and shavings if you don’t adequately cover the inlet.
