What's the deal with the Limited trim level?

As best as I can tell, if you get a Sport trim, with the premium and tech packages, it's the same as the Limited trim except the Limited has 18" wheels compared to 17" for the Sport.

The only other differences I can find are pretty small. The Limited is only available with automatic trans, and has a different fog light bezel and homelink integrated into the rear view mirror. That's about it. Seems like a waste of a trim level. Maybe that's why dealers seem to have only 1 or 2 Limited trims in inventory. Or maybe the Limited had larger differences in previous generations?

Originally it was the only way to get leather seats aside from the Pro. So now with leather as an option on the Sport and OR, the biggest thing would be more chrome on the Limited.

 

Is the leather in the non pros exactly the same except for the red stitching in the pro? Same texture and finish?

 

Which in my opinion is a drawback...

 

Wish there was a Toyota panel for TW. Like- “wtf are you guys doing. You got SR shocks on a chrome trimmed Toyota pickup. That’s the best you could pull off? “

Better yet... do away with the limited all together & replace the trim with the "TRD Tacomaworld edition"

Would be a 2nd gen remake, with pro options, and front locker as well. Ray 10s standard.

Better yet can the limited, sr5 and sport. SR and some combination of the or and pro. 2 models to rule them all.

 

And offer the or with optional road package, for the ones of us who want the scoop, and color coded fenders and bumpers.

 

Prior to 2018, leather was only available in the Limited and Pro, but the JBL and moonroof were not available on the Pro.
I wanted all 3, so I got the Limited.

Now you can get the OR and Sport with pretty much anything, so it wouldn’t make sense to get the Limited unless you like the chrome and wheels, which I don’t.
I’ve removed every bit of chrome from mine.

 

Only if they offered the scooped hood as an option. Can you imagine how many they would sell.
