Do the accumulator delete mod and it's excellent. I bitched about the clutch until about a week ago when I did it... it's a night and day difference in feel and engagement.

I really like my manual '19 TRD OR. But, I wouldn't have considered the AT even if people didn't seem to hate it. I like manuals.

I like the transmission but really wish they had moved reverse and geared it lower.

The ginger approves the landslide of M/T love in this thread.

    Get a manual.

    Just do it.

Woot! Those are decent 0-60 times for a 4000+ lb midsize truck.
Did you do those on OEM 04B13 or tuned?

That was 04B13 just before I ordered OVT. I still haven't found a reasonable spot to do runs close to me, safely.

Personally, I will go manual over auto 99.99% of the time, regardless of what the vehicle is - if it has a manual option. I love my 2017 Off Road with manual. 32K miles now, and not a single problem.

The only thing I do not like about it is the idiot engineer that designed it so that Reverse ended up right next to 1st. I can't count the number of times when I need to shift quickly into 1st, and end up going too far over into Reverse. My wife gets tired of hearing me say "if I ever met the guy that designed this transmission, I'm gonna :smack:him into next month!"

I love manual, having driven manual since right after college. Though the Tacoma MT is weird, worst manual I have ever driven. The clutch engagement point is way too high on the pedal and it's mushy. Reverse, as others had said, is geared too high.

Still love it and definitely prefer it over the AT.

It sounds like you need an ADM:

Very happy with my manual. Like others have said, reverse is a joke.

Test drove a MT and an AT. Show me an MT + Long Bed and I'll throw my money at it.

Not trying to start a fight but this just isn't true when compared to another 4wd MT. If you're coming from I dunno an STI yeah it's longer but when reasonably compared it's similar if not shorter than a lot of 4x4 manuals. Source: driven manuals manufactured b/w 1970 and 2019.

yes much shorter throws than previously owned 1970 and 1976 K2500 and F250 respectively. Of course a 3 foot long shifter might have played into that some.
Nothing about crawl control appeals to me.

With the new Toyota Tune, which helps the torque curve, and my new muffler. I have to admit...

I feels really fun to drive around in this MT truck.

I have enjoyed all 400 miles of my ‘19 OR MT so far. I am feeling bad right now—in Hawaii driving a rental Wrangler AT, and I feel like I’m cheating on my wife LOL. (Enjoying the Wrangler even with AT much more than I expected btw.)

Hawaii is, in case you don’t know, the epicenter of Tacoma World. Every 5th vehicle is a Tacoma, no joke. Can’t comment on the percent that are MT, but the OR is well-represented in these parts.
