Mine don't make so much as a peep.
As far as why they're so popular.... two words.
    1) CHEAP (in terms of price -- pair costs 1/3 of the OEM price of ONE SIDE),
    2) STRONG.

    EDIT:
Looked up the Dobinson springs. It appears to me that they are fairly similar to factory springs, except that they're arced more for "lift". They're saying 2.25 inch lift... but without any additional load support. Their so-called "heavy duty" suggest 500 pounds, which is.... NOTHING. About 1/3-1/2 of the payload capacity depending on the vehicle's original configuration.

Pictures of their springs show same 3+1 configuration as factory springs (they do have an additional thin spring below the overload spring, but it won't do anything where it is). OME are a 5+2 leaf configuration, or 4+2 for people who aren't insane.

I have absolutely no interest at all in "lift", and while the OME springs do raise it up by about 1 inch, that is mainly due to the additional thickness of the actual springs.

    In other words...
    Dobinson is for posers.
OME is if you want to use your truck as a truck.

Thanks for the rundown. I haven’t compared the specs, but always thought it curious that a lot of people complain of squeaking while they remain so popular.

LOL. You're judging leaf springs and their abilities by photos?

You obviously didn't see all 4 of our leaf pack options in your research.

    L59-112-R
5+1 Leaves, Raised Height (55mm Lift, 2.1"), Super Heavy Duty, 400-550KG constant load

That's kilos in that listing, not pounds, so that's to support 880 to 1200LBS constant load (accessories) AT 2" of lift. All of our springs can support the factory payload capacity, but we have 4 different leaf pack options, since some trucks are street princesses, and some carry the most heavy weight accessories you can find.

FYI, our heaviest leaf option to go in this truck can support 800-1100KG (1760 to 2420LBS) constant load over stock, AND at lift. Flat bed conversions with full campers use these often from us, but we don't list them for common guys that don't need such a strong spring. 9 leaves, in case you're concerned

I’d rather drill and tap the shackles for grease zerks so the lube goes where you want it, between the rubber bushings and metal sleeve, not between the bolt and inside of the sleeve. For that it suffices to slather in antiseize when you install.
Not really seeing the point of those speedy hollow bolts.

Was wondering if you were to drill a hole in the bolts it would allow the grease between the bushings and sleave to flow. If the bushings have grooves to allow the grease to flow it would allow it to go to the rest of the bushing. I ended up loosening up my leafpack and using a grease needle to make the squeeks go away. It got to the point I thought it was my old 72 three door suburban.

Just spent two hours undoing, lubing, and retorquing everything. You're wrong. That's where it needed lube. Back to being dead quiet.

I have zero knowledge of this Sorry.
I covered everything in grease an the bolt in antiseize an no squeaks so far from the hardware just typical Dakar squeakers.

I used the Dohinson greasable bolt but also drilled two holes in the middle of the bushing sleeve so the grease can make its way out to the actual bushing.

Shame that businesses need to spend time and money correcting fools that leave their dribble for Google to find. After the spanking he didn't even have the decency to delete his post.

We also did this on my brother in laws truck when we swapped from the OME el096 to the the Dobinsons springs....

The guy claiming Dobinsons are for posers should retract his comments as they are unfounded and misleading to those looking for an alternative solution to squeaky OMEs.... and for the record I have had 2 sets of cs047r springs with no issues with noise.... still running cs047r on my current rig....but I would be open to running dobinsons if I ever buy another tacoma...

Bumping this. Did anyone break these bolts yet? Or bend them?

still don’t see the point other than that they’re cheap but why risk it. I’m not a fan of running hollow hardware to mount your suspension.
And by design these don’t put the grease where it belongs, on the OUTSIDE of the metal sleeve that these bolt go IN.

    Change my mind!
