Local stealership quoted my $203 each. o_O

I came back the next day with three different internet quotes for the same rims from other dealerships. Prices were between $94 to $109 per rim. They 'price matched'... sorta. Offered me $125 per wheel, they arrived the next morning and I didn't have to pay for shipping. Works for me.

    Sadly, not much.
I just picked up a set of 17inch steel wheels (maybe FJ, maybe not?) and snow tires on Craigslist for $200. Swapped out my stock 16’s alloys and added the acorn style chrome lug nuts. Looking forward to putting an A/T tire on it later this spring.

Looking good!. If they have little recesses around where the wheel sits on the hub, they are FJ steelies. (it is where the centercap would clip to)

Ha! I thought I slung a weight and added one today where the dust is on this picture. But the dust on this picture proves I didn’t sling a weight, that’s from the previous balance. Thanks y’all!

I have been toying with the idea for dumping my OEM steelies for a set of alloy wheels. I saw a van yesterday with beautiful graphics identifying that it provides "Mobile Alloy Wheel Repair". It got me thinking my steelies aren't so bad after all.

Saw 5 white FJ steelies on a facebook market post (no affiliation at all): $499 is a tad steep, but they have caps, and you could even sell the extra caps for some money back.

Question for you peeps running the steel wheels...I'm looking at doing some old school wheels with this white tacoma I'm buying:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/usw-70-7860/overview/ (ya, I know I'll need to move these away from the caliper)

but right now the rims I have are mb352 and they are 23lbs/wheel...the steel ones average about 35lbs/wheel....

Can a few of you provide feedback on how the steel wheels drive? That's a considerable amount of inertia to add
    Thanks
    Cole

I run the factory steelies that come with the spare on the 3rd gen. I don't notice any difference in how the truck rides/drives from the factory off road wheels. The factory steel rims only weigh 24.8 lbs so not sure if the heavier wheel your looking at will act differently.

So pro comp or cragar or any of the d window wheels fit on the 2016 tacoma with out a spacer? If they do need a spacer how much? Is there any negative to running a spacer on a dd?

I like that they are made for toyota so may not have to run spacers with them. I was just curious.
