Anyone in the notrh west part of ga have access to what I believe is called a techstream. Having some horrible issues with the vsc kicking on around right hand curves. Fellow member suggested that I see if anyone has one to do a reset or zero point calibration to fix this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your Tuck lifted? Did this happen after you lifted it?

@TomTwo, I purchased the truck lifted. King 2.5 extended travel coilovers. About an 1 1/4 thread showing on the coilovers. Ome Dakar aal on the rear with extended Bilstien 5100’s.

Long story short after I purchased it I put a new set of tires on it. Same size that was on it, 285/75/16. Had an alignment done at the same time.

The day after is when all this started happening. I’ve tried the vsc reset that everyone said would fix it without any luck. Also had one shop say that could and did a vsc reset but I think they just cleared the code that the alignment machine said needed to be cleared. I got kinda use to getting in and holding the trac control button for a few seconds to turn it off and it hasn’t done it again till this weekend.

Last week I did have lca bushings, uca bushings, new axles and new front and rear diff fluid installed. Had an alignment done after that to. Now the trac control button trick doesn’t even work. The vsc kicked on today around a curve and I thought I was hitting the car coming head on.

@EatSleepTacos, that’s the reset I’ve tried a bazillion times with no success. I get all lights flashing the way it says it should. Keep the truck still. Steering wheel straight. No luck. This has been going on now for a couple of months

I was in all over those wires the past week. I looked and looked for anything loose or frayed. I can’t see anything wrong to my knowledge.

At this point I would just take it to the dealer and have them reset it. The price is worth your safety.

It’s cool. Thanks for the input. I’m open for any help at this point.

Although I will mention that about a week later, after several miles of fairly quick gravel road riding, my traction kicked in twice in the middle of a curve exactly like you stated. Freaked me out, but hasn’t done it since.

Yeah a lot of people say it works like a charm. A lot of other people say it does nothing. My luck though. Talked to a dealership yesterday in Cleveland tn and got me an appointment for Saturday. Said it would be at least 140 to do a zero point calibration. Sucks ass but I guess it will be worth it in the long run. I’ll update after I leave there.

Bummer they are charging you out the ass for a service that will take them 10 minutes, but its also worth the peace of mind if it indeed fixes your issue. Absolutely keep us updated!

Well Toyota of Cleveland Tn has just told me the reason my truck does this is because it’s been modified. I asked if they performed a zero point calibration and they told me there was no reason to do that since everything was in spec. The only reason I drove and hour and a half to the dealership today was to have someone do that. Told me that it just something that comes factory on these trucks to keep you safe. Total fucking bullshit if you ask me. I’m done with Toyota. If anyone wants a real good truck with a vsc problem let me know. Fuck I’ll even deliver it to you.

I can literally take a left hand curve at 100 mph and nothing happens. Take a curve to the right at 25 and it will about wreck the truck. Makes no sense at all

The steering/rack and pinion is off by a degree one way or another. You need techstream and possibly to fix the rack and pinion/steering angle.

So that’s not something that the Toyota dealership does.

And how could my steering rack and pinion be off. I haven’t had anything done to it. The outer tie rods is the only thing to my knowledge that has been adjusted on
