New Taco Owner - long hello

    First Taco, but not new to Toyotas. I bought a 96 4runner in 98 and kept it until I traded it in on a new 2004 SR5 4runner. I had that 4runner for 15 years so it was a bitter sweet divorce, but I went in for an oil change service on 3/9 and ended up needing new cv joints. Last year it was the AC. Not a lot of miles (144,000), but the years and sitting in a parking lot in South Carolina's 100 degree summers eventually take their toll. I had pickups before the 4runners, so wanted to go back to one. I ended up buying a new 4x2 SR5.

    So far, I've added mud flaps, a front bed rail and a bed mat. Next mod will be running boards or steps. It's pretty tall for my wife and I actually rub my butt across the seat edge when I get in. Don't want to wear it out.

    I'll use it as a daily driver, to get to trail heads for backpacking and to haul my kayak. I might pickup a bed cap/shell later, but not sure on that yet. I only used the 4wd on the 4runner twice in the 11 years since we've been in South Carolina, so that's why I went 4x2 this time.

    I had no idea they were called Tacos until I found TW in my internet searches. Lots of cool stuff going on here. Glad that I found it. I might have a couple of rookie questions coming, so bear with me.

    Oh, and the user name ShadRap is because the Rapala Shadrap is one of my favorite smallmouth fishing lures. Hobbies are fishing, backpacking, hiking, camping and shooting.
