There's no trick, they just aren't on there yet. They will be eventually. That is a replacement. The only designs that are overlays are the flat 2d ones. The raised designs stick out too far and don't look good when they have to clear the OEM emblem.

That's mine and it was ordered before OP started up the Etsy store. It's a replacement. Not hard to do at all.

I just listed a bunch of new stuff on my Etsy page. Including the smoothed pro grille style, retro stripes, monochrome stripes, and more.

Monochrome stripe overlays are next, then raised letter TRD replacements, and then I'm going to do some "stealth" pro grille style that will be black on black with the lines removed from behind TOYOTA.

just to confirm, use the directions at the start of this thread for removal and installation?

Just FYI, the filament doesn't fit into the little holes, so I'll have to drill that a bit if' i'm going that route.

    thanks.

Sorry, forgot to mention that. It should just be the bottom layer where it was pressed against the 3d printer bed. I just take an exacto and deburr the holes.

Yup instructions for removing the OEM emblem are on page 1 of this thread.

If you have any issues Just let me know.

Sweet! I love how well the satin matches with the rest of the steering wheel.

    Yep, looks good.

In direct sunlight the satin badge looks a little darker than the rest of the wheel cover but overall I've extremely pleased with it.

    Thanks again!

Ok, here is what I found trying to put one of these awesome emblems on an 05-11.

First off, I got it in the mail today, and since I’m gonna be out of town for the next few days I wanted to get it on in a hurry so you guys didn’t have to wait, I made a mistake.... but more on that later.

I was gonna do a write-up on removal down to the cover but @05Taco4x4 beat me to it here. It’s a great guide.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nt-during-audio-controls-installation.538387/

First off, yes I did drill the rivets to get the cover off and replaced them with my own. I couldn’t find any other way to get it off.

As for fitment, it’s close but not perfect. All but two of the top post line up but the way @JimmyRigged88 set it up, it doesn’t matter, so that’s good. After looking at a 5th gen T4R which has the same steering wheel the emblem was designed for, the 2nd Gen wheel has a deeper groove for the factory emblem that causes an issue. I ended up dremeling the peaks down to get a better fit. I forgot to take the before pic. But, here is after so you get the idea.
    0001F265-4189-4BC5-80E7-DCB7AA0F645A.jpg

After that it should have been strait forward but I did make a bonehead move with my adhesive by using too much. I was in a hurry and was using weatherstrip adhesive, bad combo. It usually cleans up well but I had a little get on the emblem and screw up the finish on it, it’s not bad.... but bad enough I’ll be fixing it. It looks perfectly centered in person but in the pic the shadows make in not look quite right. D317263B-51AF-4A4A-A8D8-EC15F06473B9.jpg

Overall I would say if you don’t mind making your airbag look like this

    F5C31196-A2F3-4098-95BD-36926D86EF6D.jpg

Then go for it. I am happy enough with it that I plan to order another cover and another emblem from @JimmyRigged88 and taking my time to not screw it up. Thanks Jimmy for the chance to be the first, I really like it compared the the chrome devil horns!

Sorry if my post has errors, written while riding with my wife to dinner, wanted to make sure and get it out as quick as possible.

    Thanks for the write up!

If I'm honest it looks better on your wheel then on our 3rd gen's :anonymous:

So if I make the "well" on the back deeper it'll fit without grinding down the airbag cover? That's an easy change to make. It actually borders on too shallow for 3rd gen wheels too. You don't have to remove any material, but it's tight against the emblem. I wanted it as light and low profile as possible.

Thanks again for being my test subject. Hit me up when you get that new cover and we can play with the depth of the back so no grinding is needed.
