I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
My life's taking a new direction and I'm going back and forth on selling the truck. I love the taco, have done the most popular mods, suspension lift, bumpers, bed rack, lights, it goes anywhere in comfort!

That said, I'm driving it less during to work, and I cringe letting a machine like that sit. Blue book is worth more than I owe. I shutter to think of the money in mods. I know I wont get all that back and that's fine.

I'm hear to ask, what's reasonable for the mods? I get that one person may want it all and pay whatever, while the next may want to haggle under blue book because its modded. Does anyone here have that experience to know what's reasonable? I'm in no rush if I do decided to let her go. A rough estimate is 15k plus in parts alone. I pulled 45k out of the air but not 100% sure.

If anyone has any personal experience, buying or selling one like this, I'd love to hear from you.

    Thank you

Mods don’t net much in resale, better off going back to stock and parting out for the most economical route.

Sell mods, return to stock. Sell as stock.

Otherwise keep it, you’re going to lose your ass.

x2 go back to stock, and sell the mods separately. if you don't have the stock parts, well then get ready to take a little bit of a bath.

25-50% for the average buyer who is interested in a modded vehicle. Maybe 75% for the perfect buyer who wants exactly what you've done. 0% on a trade in (regardless what they say)

As already said, take it back to stock. Sell parts. Sell truck faster and for a better profit than if it were modded.

I don’t think there’s any harm in listing it with mods. Just find a price you can live with. If you don’t get it, go back to stock and part it out.

Personally I hate the process of selling expensive things myself. I sold an RV a few years ago, and even though it sold for more than I owed, it wasn’t a fun process. OTOH, I sold some older STI tires last year, and they sold the next day—a guy drove 5 hours to pick them up.

Thank you Bill, I guess that's what i was looking for. Nothings changed too much. I'm sandwiched between two military bases so selling as is, is a strong possibility. The truck gets a ton of attention as it sits. I just hate having her sit. Theres a sad looking FJ40 that I can get and play with for now.

The truck was good but life moves on. My baby just turned 18 and is leaving. The truck was a blast the last couple of years and we went everywhere in Alaska! Then I met a great lady that has younger kids and the RV is more practical for the moment. So I might just see where things lead.

Thanks for everyone who chimed in.

I’d say if your in not big hurry why not list it with the mods and hope you find the guy that likes it as is and is willing to pay? You don’t have to sell it to the guys who want to offer way less than what you want. If it don’t sell then consider parting it out.

since you've invested a lot of money in Mods might be best to keep the truck, or throw it out on the market and see if anyones biting on the price. resale value on tacomas hold up but with all the added mods that's money added on to your investment
