Bilstein 5100s all around, front set to 4th notch (1.55 inches), 1 inch blocks in the rear. Still have about 1 inch of rake. ECGS bushing installed as well. I plan to stick with my 265/70/17 tires for a while so a mild lift like this was a good fit. Before and after pics below in case anyone was looking to do something similar.

Pinch weld smash, and heat gun melting of fender liners. Couldn't get them right so I trimmed them for now. Ordered FendX and a speedo calibrator.

Replaced the bed stickers for something that I like!

For those replacing stickers....just go with Acetone in the can from your hardware store. Makes are moving the residue from the originals.

Thanks. The stang has already undergone quite a transformation since that pic. I’ll post more soon when the engine gets back in my hands.

Here’s a link to the additional base plate anchors for your lift. I have the BP8000 and I ordered from Greg Smith Equipment. If that’s where you got your lift from, find your model on the site and go to the bottom of the page and you should see the anchor plates listed. My floor is plenty strong for the lift without them, but I was nervous about being under it alone so these were mainly just for a little additional ooomph.

It was a very rare nice day here, a true Lower Mainland spring day. Two weeks ago we had winter – with 45 centimeters of snow – and last week, summer – with THREE whole days without rain and 22C sunshine, pretty much qualifying as an all out heat wave and drought here...but now The Universe is back in balance.

Since I am waiting on the brown truck of happiness to deliver my next batch of bits and pieces to finish up my auxiliary electrics project on the Grey Ghost, and not wanting to clean the gutters or do any other real work, I dug out the old Jackall I inherited from my Dad. I found this in a corner of the barn, where it had sat for decades collecting dust and spider webs and dead mice parts, and I knew it would have to have a home on my Taco. I spent an inordinate amount of time, a lot of elbow grease, drank two Cariboo and used a full can of WD40 to start to clean it up (still more antique grease to dig out, and it needs to be painted), and it was a bit of a trip down memory lane. Caked to the bottom was a layer of cow poop; being a farm boy, I am pretty clear on what cow poop looks like, even when fossilized. It just didn't 'click' how old this jack was, and how much time had passed...I was about four years old the last time we had cattle. On top of the poop was a layer of asphalt. That one I DO in fact remember. That was the day the smart-ass fifteen-year-old learned that Dad was right; when you use a jack on a really hot summer day on the new driveway to lift up up your beater Pinto, you actually do have to put down a chunk of 2 X 12.

Coincidentally, that was also the same summer I learned about propane torches, gravel and tar and patching pavement

Knowing how to use a Jackall without breaking any fingers was a right of passage, and every household had one. If you were really cool, you carried one in your old F150. Seems that things haven't changed much in 60 years, except the trucks are better.

There is some debate – not unlike the chicken and the egg – about which came first, the Hi Lift or the Jackall. I do know that Hi Lift is American, and the Jackall is a North-Of-The-49th thing, and they have both been around a really, really long time...the design for the one that I have was patented just after WWII, and this was at least the second version, but I really don't think Canadians invented the concept; we will give our American brethren this one...we are good with poutine, hockey, basketball and insulin. And Nanaimo bars.

Yes, there IS a correlation between the last two.

Very nicely done. I've been trying to suss out how to put on a rack (I need to go with a high one) and keep the tonneau cover.

Did you mod the cover at all? My cover is by no means watertight, but it does keep out most of the rain...my one worry is that it'll leak wherever I put the moutns.

Why not run the carpet under the stiffeners? And no trimming required.

I did the same thing today. Mine was only $375 though. I thought Colorado was outrageous but Califas ain’t messing around.
