Volk Racing TE37XT 17x8.5 FIRST LOOK

Am I the only one? I was hoping not needing to buy new tires till these rims get here but the stock are getting close to done. #nomoredelays

nah. I needed new tires so i ended up buying 18's. With the snow we've been having lately, i don't regret that decision one bit.

 

The waiting game on these rims. I currently have 16x8 TE37X, but would love to go 17's.

 

Following. Looking to get a set of these for my truck.

 

What’s the wait time to get these?

 

Been waiting for the first set since November/December 2017. But it would probably be a few months normally.

It is that time of year (again while waiting for these).
Here is my GX with 18” TE37 for some viewing pleasure while
I wait for 17” version myself.

I was wondering the same thing. Chuck hasn’t been on in a month or so. This is some tiresome wait with nothing to show for it. At least some pics would make me excited again.

 

Agreed, simply providing pics would be nice. I had bought tires for these over a year ago and decided to just sell them a few months ago for a bit of a loss. It was taking up garage space and getting old.

 

Those of us who are more tech savvy than myself please reach out via Instagram, apparently that is the quickest way to get a response from Chuck.
I have sent messages and emails, but those get buried quick...

I'm somewhat "tech savvy" but prefer to keep communications here, since I joined the initial group buy in this forum. I want you guys to know when i know anything and some of y'all have done the same. With all due respect (since there will be a lot of defenders), no sense for me to hunt this guy down for updates since he is a stand up guy. Yes, he has offered to give back the deposit, i get that...I'm just wanting to see progress/pics of these 17's. I'm at the point where I don't really care if i have to wait another year for the actual product in hand since I gave in and bought 18's.....still want the 17's.

but when is it coming tho?

 

I seen no sign of 17’s at the auto salon in Tokyo this year either. Not even a hint. Hahaha

 

Yeah they weren’t there. I asked Chuck when he was at TAS. I spoke to Rays/Volks at SEMA and they said they’re working on it and they keep getting questions about it.

 

Chuck briefly touched bases, he is waiting on response/reply/update from Japan (time zones etc.) Chuck knows we all are asking and will be in the moment he has something to share.

 

Sorry for the no response lately guys as i have been trying to get definite answer.

The latest update is

Due to the fact that they cannot get a positive strenght test on a large pcd version. They have switched and started production on a te37X which they have tested and have found no weak points in the wheel. Weak points means possible flaw areas within the spoke that may not be able to handle the weight of the vehicle and could possibly cause failure. Volk racing is an actual company that tests all of this and just doesnt produce a wheel due to style and size. They thouroghly test their product to ensure you get the perfect product. Upon testing of the te37x, they deemed that has no weak points in any of the spokes due to the flat design of it.

As of 3/1/19 the TE37x went into tooling. Tooling is the process in which every size engineer and draw out full specs on the wheel to get it ready for manufacturing. This process usually takes 90 days. From that point a sample set will be made and road tested. Once all testing passes it will be ready for production. I have asked several times for a guaranteed date so I can update you guys but up til now I still have not been provided that. At this point best thing to do is to update after every step is completed. Once tooling finishes we can get a better look at when these will go through its next phase and how long.

Volk racing has expressed their sincerest apologies for the wait. They ask for your patience as they produce you the strongest aftermarket wheel that will be available for our trucks. We will keep you posted as news comes along.
