So it's plastic and wood fibres correct ?

Do you not see expansion and contraction in all axis then ? ie width , thickness and length ?

I have minimal knowledge of AC wiring so I may be incorrect but, aren’t the grounds supposed to be run to the switches?
Also, why have 5 runs terminate in this 2 gang box?
We have one GFCI outlet that I believe is tied into the power in, and then one switch operates the 4 light vanity as well as the light in the fan, and the second switch operates the fan.
Do the vanity light and fan light need to be on 2 runs even though they are on the same switch?

We are selling our house and the buyers home inspector found a couple of problems. This one makes no sense to me. The original water heater died so I replaced it. The flue was 3" and in good shape so I reused it. The inspector required that it be increased to 4" by a licensed plumber. So, I hired it done and this is the finished product. What I don't understand is there is only a 3" opening in the standoff. What is the point of the bigger flue pipe?

Are there ground wires in that box? I can't see them in the pic, but yes by code they should be connected to the switches.

If I can see correctly it looks like the electrician ran a 3 wire cable to the exhaust fan/light and therefore tied the the two lights together on the same switch after the fact which seems normal.

As far as why the number of wires in the box, I sure He fed power on to a couple other spots, why is hard to tell from just the pic of one box but seems perfectly normal to me.

I have seen plenty of 2 gang boxes with that many wires in them and don't think it is any cause for concern

Yep, ground wires are twisted together and hanging in the back.

I made the assumption that the only power running through this box was for the lights, fan, and GFCI outlet as those are the only runs in this bathroom, however looking at the breaker box all 3 rooms (2 Br, 1 Ba) are on the same 20 amp breaker which makes me think that the 5th run is to power the the next room.

I cut out some drywall to drop the Ethernet cable through to the first floor and found that we have a little rot because whoever removed the previous outdoor run of Ethernet/coax didnt seal the hole.

I made some progress on the garage. Finished (more like gave up on) sanding and put down the first coat of drywall sealer/primer. Since the old drywall is years old and hasn't been sealed, it's soaking up the sealer and stains are showing through. I was just going to do 2 coats of the sealer and call it a day. Now I am thinking of doing a final coat of something thick that will give me a consistent color. What do you guys recommend?

Are they good as a final coat or do they need another layer on top?

I have used the original Kills over red which is the hardest to cover and did it in 1 coat with no bleeding.

    Covered this.

Awesome! I am horrible at estimating quantity, especially with a thick paint like this. How many square feet would you get out of 1 gal?

gosh, I am bad as that myself. For that garage I would start at two gallons and see how much it covers and go from there. These days they can color match way better than in the past and buying more doesn't seem to be as big of a problem.

Nope, I've never had any expansion/contraction in width, or thickness. I've only seen 1/8" max change in length +/-.

Even with the restriction the 4” flue will draw better so less chance of backdrafting :)

Your flue makes a bunch of initial bends which likely influenced the inspector’s decision, there are charts for this sort of thing

Combustion gases will be at a higher velocity at initial hood constriction to fill larger slower moving vent stack volume

Water heater size plays into it too
