Lift kit

what’s the best lift kit I can get for 13 tacoma 2wd maybe around 500 and not have to replace a lot of parts I was thinking of the rough country n3 strut kit and maybe a 2 coil spacer on top ??

 

Maxtrac spindles and blocks (leaf packs if you got the coin)

You'll need longer rear shocks too.

 

Chad he said around $500 how much were the spindels? Shocks and blocks probably $200 + longer ubolts

Well I wasn't trying to be an ass I just thought you could offer some real world pricing to that. The option you offered was good but he needs to understand some prices of some good stuff compared to not so good stuff

 

I know, sorry for the sarcasm. My suggestion will exceed his initial dollar amount. The spindles have gone up since I got them, not too sure on current pricing.

 

For around the $500 price point I would Lift the front using your stock coils with the bilstein 5100 part# 24-239370 set on top perch. If you can, I would lift the front first then measure and lift the rear accordingly. For the rear lift, long style add leafs are great. Blocks work perfectly fine up to 2 inches.

Would I use my stock springs?

 

Yes, use your front coil springs with the bilstein 5100’s. Also, you don’t have to put them on the top perch, you can choose whichever setting you want in conjunction with your current or future wheel/tire combo. I run them on the top clip with 17x9 on 295/70/17 tires. My front measurement from center of hub to bottom of fender flare is 23.5.

 

Save your money and go with something you will like. Doesn't pay to go cheap, because you will end up replacing it all with something better. Good luck and welcome to TW.

 

Okay I might end up going with this. I went on there and looked and saw they had a 5inch could I still use my stock springs with that and would a 2 inch spacer be okay if I added that . Do they ride good or close to the factory ride ?

 

How do you intend to use your truck once it’s lifted? I can tell you I’ve had incoil spacers and I’ve also run the ones above strut. I’m not going to bad mouth them, they have their uses. With that said, I would absolutely not recommend stacking lifts. Example: Rough country 5 inch lift + 2 inch coil spacer. If you want a 7 inch lift and have it be right, you’ll be hovering in the $2,000-$2,500 range. I love the way my truck rides. I don’t go off road, so it made zero sense to splurge on something I won’t use. Does it feel stock/factory? Hell no it doesn’t, but that’s ok. Just remember, any lift you choose is going to change the ride quality and adding larger heavier tires will change it more so. The Bilstein 5100’s are a nice compromise lift without breaking the bank

 

It’s gonna be. Pavement princess you could say just want a lift to clear 33’s and look clean nothing to high or fancy. Do you think the bilsteins 2.5 inch would be good or the 5inch and if I got the 5inch would I use my stock spring for that. And if I do get this will it be hard trying to get or make it hard for my truck to stay aline and not ruin my tires.

 

Instead of going with the 5 inch kit with a ton of different parts. This might be a better and easier route. Chadspride mentioned this option already.

Is it hard to put those in and do they ride better than a suspension lift ??

 

I think I’m gonna with the bilstein 5100s. Will I be able to clear 33x12.50r20with no offset and not scrub? And does it lift the bsck or do I need to get blocks? Also would it be bad to stack a 2 inch coil spacer I’m not gonna be off road just gonna be driving around town??

 

5100’s are great. You will be happy. However, With that size tire you will most certainly have to trim plastic and do the cab mount chop so you don’t rub regardless of being on or offroad. I do not recommend combining a coil spacer with the 5100. Just Install the bilsteins on the top setting. Take measurements of the amount of lift you gained and then determine if you can or still want to run the wheel and tire size you mentioned. Blocks are fine for the back. In my opinion up to a 2 inch block will not affect the ride very much.
