I went out towards Baker this week. Conditions are interesting. Slush on top of ice, it got shitty quick. Melting during the day and freezing at night. Careful

I am near Leavenworth and the snow sucks. I did help a Jeep out of the snow but I got stuck myself. I need a winch

Nice. My dad got them when they first came out and went through 3 or 4 batteries before the truck guy took the set back. The batteries just wouldn't last and had no power for some reason.

The old NiCad model or the newer Lithium one? The lithium ones are a ton better.

It was right when the lithium ones came out. Pops lucked out though as someone else had traded in an IR drill and impact set for the snap on stuff. Truck guy gave dad a great deal on that set since the SO had been so many issues for him.

I always liked that IR cordless impact. Was awesome when it came out.

I’ve never had an issue with mine except the price, If i had to do it again I’d buy the Milwaukee set.

Milwaukee FTW! There was a video side by side comparison of the m18 vs snapon impacts where the snapon struggled to break lug nuts loose where the m18 just got after it.

Ya they are pretty good little impacts, only advantage the snap-on has is warranty. I wore my first one out and they replaced it for $150

So you'll have pics of it installed by the am right? Maybe it's just me, but I can't just let truck parts sit there. Bust out the halogen lights and tell the missus I'll be in late. :notsure:

I had finals and then had tons of yardwork/house stuff I had to do. Picked up a new electric (corded) mower, used a flame thrower on weeds and did some "area beautification" as we used to call it. Tomorrow I'm gonna go buy a HF paint gun and maybe some drop clothes to paint it in the garage, although I was reading the instructions and they recommend cutting the bed sides and doing test fitting first before painting it...

Yeah, I'm sure you'll have it in and out like a yoyo a handful of times making sure it's aligned right before you finally torque it down. Is it coated with any sort of light oil? You'll want to make sure you remove any thing like that prior to painting. Brake cleaner and a thorough wipe with an old towel or shop rags will help eliminate any contaminates that can prevent the paint sticking. I know with my sliders they had a light coating on them from the supplier, before we even started the fabrication on them.

Looking for any advice on places to see and explore while traveling down the west coast. I wrote Turbodb and he gave me some great info, I will be zig zagging my way from WA down to Phoenix, AZ. I have allotted myself about two weeks to do so. I am getting out of the service April 4th and looking to start my adventure/vacation within a day or two of that. I have a decently built rig, a bunch of spare parts, plenty of recovery gear (inc. winch and maxtrax), will be sleeping in the RTT and exploring on my own!! Please feel free to write me with any suggestions through PM or in this Group! Thanks for any input you guys lend in advance. I will be stopping in Fresno, CA around the 11-13 to visit my daughter..... needs to be part of the route.

Drive down to Bend area the first night, that will get you out of the shitty PNW weather and it’s a neat area. Work your way south from there - lots of cool hot springs in S Oregon/N Nevada but you would need to cross the mountains again near Reno/Lake Tahoe as 120 will still be closed.

Actually it doesnt feel like its covered with any oils to prevent rust oddly enough. I'll make sure it gets a good wipe down before it gets painted. Just picked up a HF paint gun today.

Shot you a PM, I have a friend who might be interested.

My wife wants a new car, I wonder if I could talk her into a 100 series...
