Been looking at lifting my 2018 Tacoma and have been really looking at Fox 2.5 coilovers but they are pretty expensive. Was looking at wheelers and came across 6112 coilovers and saw that they could pair them with king 600 coils. I might put a small bumper and winch but that would be in the distant future.

I had an 05 Tacoma that I paired with 5100 ebiach coilovers set at 2.5 and thought they were very stiff.

I am just trying to see if anyone has any experience with this setup, and don't want to turn my daily driver ride quality to complete garbage.

If your gonna put a bumper and winch your gonna need 650 coils unless your cool with losing lift up front.

    ^^^ this

and the coils that come stock with the 6112 are 600 lb so you would not need the king 600's.

When I had my 5100 coilovers set to 2.5; Everytime I hit a bump the shock would max out and bang pretty hard, so I guess that is one of my concerns as well as the ride quality with a 650 coil.

I have the 6112's With the 600 pound coil setup on my 2nd generation 2013 double cab long bed right now. I am going to be putting on a from Bumper with a full steel skid plate trio very soon. I have plans to move up to the 650 pound bilstein Coils but I will keep you in the loop to see how far it Dips down after I put on the bumper in the skid plates. I will say this though, my 6112 Set up right now are extremely smooth compared to the 5100 set up. I don't know how much it is going to change when I swap out the 600 pound coils for the 650 pound coils.

Look great. I plan to go with the a similar setup but 3rd notch instead of 4th. Doubt I get UCAs since it will be in 3rd notch. Any issues with TSS/ did you have it recalibrated?

I haven't had anything re-calibrated so maybe it's just my ignorance, but I haven't had any problems with the sensor. I've put about 1,000 miles on the set-up and definitely notice an improvement in the ride.

I do, however, notice a little bit of squeaking, but haven't spent a lot of time trying to pinpoint where it is coming from.

Center of hub to fender would be a more accurate measurement of lift achieved/ride height.

Yep I know, but that how I measure it and still go by that measurement.

With this setup, is it a stiff ride over bumps at speed?
I believe bottom setting gives you 1/2" from the start.

I was looking at my stock setup and took some measurements. Lower mount to where the coil starts, it's 8.25" on the stock. The 6112 to the 3rd notch to where coil sits (actaully 1/2" higher than the actual notch because of the seat ring), it's 9 3/4". Does that mean installing it at the 3rd notch I would get approx. 1.5" of lift? The coil is also stiffer so that should add to the lift slightly, that make sense?

Anyone with Steel bumper, full skids, winch and sliders, what setting did you choose? Did you use springs that came with it or did you upgrade to 650/700's?

I’ve had this setup for a couple of months now. Didn’t really it settling too much. It rides smooth and I’m on the top settings. Off road is where I think the 6112s/5160 shine.

#700 springs here. I have a SOS slimline, Warn winch sync line, full reinforced Mobtown skids, welded on sliders, tool box, etc. Getting full bumper soon. I am still running them at the 6/5 slots. Is it a little stiff, yea, otherwise they are good to go. I may drop to 5/4, depending on how much I drop with the new bumper.

What is the spring length of the 6112s? I know they weigh 600 and I know upgrading to 650 or 700 springs is common. I'd like to upgrade to a longer spring if possible and go down a clip or 2. I have 2nd gen 6112s at 5/4 setting on a 3rd gen... I ended up with just under 2" of lift and want about .5" more. If upgrading to a longer spring is possible then I'd rather do that then a spacer.
