I have factory wheels and got these in factory size no issues. If you have an issue contact them for warranty. Every brand has these issues, its called a defect. Search around,KO2s are notorious for not balancing.

I had the same issue with my first set of KO2’s and I believe the issue was the actual carcass of one of the tyres. I bought my first set when they first came out. I’m on my second set of KO2’s and i’ve got no issues with them at all. Silky smooth running down the road.

Had a co-worker just go through this and DT went through 11 of those tires before they got 4 that would road force balance in 265/70-16. Said they weren't surprised because they've been having trouble with them for a while. FWIW I had a ton of issues with some 35" Toyos on a Silverado a few years ago, same situation. It happens. I'll stick with BFG for my money, but I'm sure Falken will get the issues sorted.

Man that has to be frustrating!!! Its not like they are just inventing the wheel & I would think that they would be seriously concerned. Word of mouth will kill a business these days!

Mine are a little wobbly around 65mph, but I don’t care much.

I definitely hear you there. I’m kinda fed up with them and considering going with Hankook Dynapros just so I don’t have to deal with this anymore.

Also, while discount tire was balancing the tires one of the wheels came off the machine and damaged it pretty badly. They say they will buy me another one, but it’s a toss up as to when SCS will have bronze Ray10s back in stock so I’m not a happy camper at the moment.

I always ran BFG K02s and loved them, but I don’t want to go with a 10 ply since I’m on 16s.

Discount Tire said they contacted Falken and that they are sending me two new tires to try and if it doesn’t go away they will send two more. So it sounds like they aren’t even confident in their own tires.

Man that sucks that your tires didn't work out, not to mention the wasted time going back and forth to DTD trying to fix the issues.
Good luck with your next tires!

Three of my fleet trucks have the Wildpeaks in load range E of varying sizes. Coming close to 100k miles total between all of them and I have not had any balancing issues whatsoever.

Sure makes me scratch my head when I'm ready to get some new tires. Heard a lot of good stuff about Falken Wildpeaks but now hearing some people have issues and going back in forth to mount and balance tires, makes me have second thoughts

I've had my Wildpeak 265/75-16 E load tires on stock OR wheels for over a year now. Zero problems and haven't had to have them balanced since install. I rotate every 5K at oil change time.

i ran wildpeaks on a sierra 1500 and really liked them. Thought they were one of the best "values" in an AT tire

    Too few to list.
Have you guys considered using tire beads? Saw a thread which someone mentioned them and said it constantly rebalances their tires as they wore and have excellent results.

good thought. I used them in a motorcycle i didn't want wheel weights showing on. The dynamic balancing worked well in my opinion.

There’s a lot of variables and things that can cause tires to have problems. From being manufactured, to being installed and balanced. No tire is immune from any issue. Nor is any brand. If people understood how a tire was made and how much labor goes into making one they might better understand. Even with some of the completely automated building machines we have problems still arise. Mostly only the OE tires are built with those. Which means your tire is completely hand built. They are built in 2 stages. First the carcass then the final breakers and tread. The machines build lots of other tires, meaning they get changed over and everything has to be adjusted for the tire it’s going to be building. Things get out of adjustment, components can vary, be slightly out of spec or not conforming. Builder could of just got sloppy, or the machine or something have a hiccup. Or there can be issues during curing. Most major issues will cause an immediate scrap tire. Those get scrapped. No tire is perfectly in balance. That’s what balancing is for. There are always variations. Tires aren’t injection molded. I don’t have any pics of the wildpeak carcasses but here are some pics of the green wire going into the curing presses and coming out, before going to finishing and final inspection.

Update: Falken sent 2 new tires that balanced out even worse than the old tires. Over 50lbs of force on the balancer.

Falken is going to credit me what I paid for the tires. So I need to figure out a replacement.

Any suggestions? Looking for lightweight tires and may go down to 265/70R16s for more options.

    I’m thinking:
    Nitro Terra Grappler
    Hankook Dynapro ATM
    Goodyear Duratrac

    Any other recommendations?

Toyo Open Country ATIIs are pretty lightweight in the C load and come in both 265/70/r16 and 265/75/r16. They seem to have great reviews. I just put some on my truck instead of Falkens.

Man there is something definitely wrong there!!!

I would go with the Hankook DynaproATM in 265/75/16 for a good all year round tire. I've heard they hold up very well even on gravel roads

Toyo Open Country AT IIs are a great choice in the C old rating. I ran a set on my 4Runner of a long time.
When I couldn’t get Wildpeaks to balance about a month ago, I went with BFG KO2s and they’re great.
