I concur, the also leave residue in the pan because there is a lip that extends into the pan from it so all the junk doesn't drain completely out

oh ok i see. those other instructions just say to add a quart preemptively, then get it to temp. open and it let it drain, if it doesnt drain repeat all the steps starting with adding another quart.

I would really enjoy seeing the thought process that took you from what I said (helping people) to yours (suing manufactures over dead children).

Well I'm glad I knew enough that transmission fluid = red and stop and regroup. I only wish there was a dipstick for a quick check. I drove it a couple.of miles seems fine no hard shifting or anything experienced by users who had low trans fluid.

This is exactly it ^^^. You’ve gained some knowledge and confidence. If you want to check your level via the OEM method, you’ll be even further ahead.

I don’t know at what point “working on cars” became an exclusive domain of so-called experts. If you take your truck to the dealer for a fluid change, it’s likely just an apprentice doing the work as the skilled guys are in short supply and working on something challenging.

Haha!! I talked to my Toyota mechanic, who’s a very straight shooter, and he really likes the 3.5L. When people come in complaining he asks them if they’ve been on the internet.

Pretty simple actually. If you pay attention, shit like this won’t happen. Not bashing OP. We all make mistakes. You’re saying someone should make some changes so this doesn’t happen, because you feel it happens too much. This is the same argument the people who ran over their children in their driveways had. When in reality if they payed attention to their surroundings, they wouldn’t of killed their children. Do you see where I’m coming from now?

No. I see you trying to light a fire.

This is not the dumpster you are looking for.

Lol not trying to light any dumpster. 2 drain plugs near each other. Not the end of the world. You drive a truck with 2 maybe 3 pedals all within inches of each other. Maybe you want the automakers to separate them like in a go kart?

I recall reading that this is exactly what the captain of the Titanic said to the watchkeeper just before they jumped into the icy Atlantic ocean.
