I have been trying to get a hold of Phil for over a week now to have him send me an invoice for the down payment with no success. Called them up last week and the guy who answered couldn't help me. All he said was that the owner was out to a show and he would pass on a message when he got back. I have a feeling Vagabond doesnt have a finance department :) Phil if you read this, send me an invoice! Lead time is like 9 months and I want it before next winter.

I think I'm still the only one in the SLC area, but not for long...

Edit - I'm also happy to let you take a look sometime.

I averaged 15.7 mpg from Benicia to Bend and from Bend to Benicia. I have the LRA tank. That means one tank of gas up and one tank of gas down. Fill up in California was $117. Fill up in Bend was $86. It could be a very economical way to deal with the installation...

Oh, 285/75 R16’s with all the armor and blah blah blah. But, and huge caveat, was slow as a turtle at an average of 64mph.

There is no difference. The front mount just needs a flat plate to span the difference. Everything else is the same. And I am assuming you are talking about the LRA tank.

I just replaced my all terrain tires with a mud tire yesterday and my commute to work went from 20+ mpg to 17.1mpg kind of sad but the only tires in 255/85R16 were mud terrain. Getting sliders installed on tuesday, then a front bumper and winch in mid april, rear steel bumper in mid may. Probably going to have to get a commuter car as this truck will become an unbearable gas hog. Count another mpg off once the Drifter goes on.

^ Agreed: Too bad more choices are not offered in 255/85R16!

I’d love to have Duratracs in that size as well.

Time to step up to 255/80/17.

Falken Wildpeaks and Nittos are offered in that size, and it’s the same size as the 255/85/16 just with a 17 inch wheel.

IMO tall skinny is the way to go.

Where on the bed would it be the ideal spot to run power to the bed? Far back driver side? I want to get some stuff ready for when I pick my unit up but don't know where it would be the easiest for the guys to tie everything in. Anyone have any good ideas?

depends on what you are doing. Putting in a separate battery? if so I would go through the front driver side and drill a hole with a firewall bulkhead to run the wires through. Once done seal that sucker up as best as possible.

If not and just wiring in basic stuff, I'd go through the driver side cubby.

agree Tall Skinny is my preference, but currently my 255/85/16 are in the shed, and the 285/75/16 on the truck, i'm thinking about switching out again...air volume is key, i'm wondering if the 255/80/17 has same volume as the 255/85/16...you say its the same size, but is it the same volume?.....problem i have with my old 255 cooperST, is that they need a seven inch rim width, an eight inch rim width messes those tires cuz the tread is too narrow and exposes sidewall to more potential damage...bad combo, so that leaves me with OEM wheels which do not equate well compared to SCS F5. TOO dam bad SCS don't make a seven inch F5. I'm thinking ToyoMT in 255 mounted on OEM wheels...those rims suck bad..but i guess i could accept the sucky part to run ToyoMT255....if i'm going to run tall skinny, the wheel needs to be skinny...and steel rims heavy
