I've seen that on 0-dark thirty LA commutes, which is crazy because police vehicles are defined as having forward facing solid red lights....sounds like a holdover from the stage coach era.

 

If only they waited 10 years Utah would have legally sufficed.

 

The factory headlights get rated by the IIHS and NHTSA based on how well the driver can see but also how much glare and whatnot that oncoming traffic gets. So it wouldn’t be so great for companies to make overly bright lights

Fair enough but I've been driving for (a long time) won't date myself, and it seems standard brightness has gotten a helluva lot brighter these days. I'll flash a car thinking their brights are on only to get flipped off or they then put the brights on which are even more insane.

Headlights now from the factory have to be brighter than 5-10-15 years ago. I remember when only high end euros had projectors.

Apparently European cars have headlight tech that’s miles ahead of US cars from the same manufacturers. US headlight regulations are years behind EU headlight regulations from what I read. In 5 years or so we should have what the EU has now over here

Perfectly legal in nc as long as the actual headlight is white. Accent color can be anything except FLASHING red or blue. Pretty sure they are still tacky in all 50 states though.

here they are only illegal if you have blue, or strobing lights.... must be law enforcement to have blues, or an emergency responder/road crew for strobes..

 

I’d love to see the look on y’all Governors face when he seen the big gun mounted on top, don’t think the green lights would even cross his mind lol.

 

I think it is legal to put any colored lights you want on a R/C car.

 

I like em. So do registry cops. Enjoy the impound yard.

 

I would think that the high caliber machine gun mounted to the back of that jeep would be more of a concern to the cops.
