    Yeah

If we camp Day 2 around Kokadjo, we'll hit the trains on Day 3 by lunch. That should be sunday.

So we can either take a leisurely route back, or people with time constraints can head south immediately and be home by Monday evening.

My plan is to camp Sunday night in the maine woods, then have a long day monday to get home.

WWII pow camp back by Spencer lake
The government acquiesced, and in 1944, some 4,000 German soldiers arrived at four primary POW camps in northern Maine at Houlton, Princeton, Seboomook, and Spencer Lake. And now three of them were on the run.

If you are coming across northern VT the East Haven Radar Base is on your way and would be a fun little side trip easy in and easy out might set you back an hour but well worth it.

I just noticed this discussion. I was planning on doing a trip From Allagash down to Millinocket via Chamberlain lake, but this looks interesting and I might learn something. May 24 will be muddy though since the snow will only just be gone.

Alright I think Im gonna try and make this happen.... Got nothing else locked in for Memorial day weekend, and hoping we are early enough to beat black flies. I did a green mountain trip last year around the same time and was fine.

Gotta see what happens with work... but worst case scenario i've got a long drive and late night Friday night and long drive and late night Sunday night... but we'll see...

Gotta start thinking about what I need to get the truck ready. DuraTracs are getting old... but I think they'll make it. Got full size e load spare and a stock spare, so will bring them both. Might be time to start working on my half assed prinsu knock off... so I gan get my hi lift out of the bed, a roof basket, and maybe even spare fuel and a recovery box on the roof.... gotta make room for more comfortable sleeping in the back.

Got both HAM and CB so set there. Skids would be nice... but dont think ill need them for this trip.

Whats the total truck count at? I am for all intense and purposes stock... got sliders, but likely wont have skids... but got good tires to that the key for the trip.

Anyone dealt with a group going into NMW recently? there was some discussion on expeditionportal last year or the year before about NMW not letting groups in due to some unfortunate issues with a group of raptors....

Ill drop this here, you know food for thought.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_Hagas

Gulf Hagas is a gorge located in the mountains of northern Maine woods and is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the East. The West Branch of the Pleasant River cuts through the earth for three miles creating a vertically walled slate gorge with numerous waterfalls. A trail follows the rim of the canyon offering hikers views of the falls and its geology. The gorge is 3 miles (4.8 km) long; the river drops 370 feet (110 m) in this distance boasting 130 feet (40 m) walls.[1] Gulf Hagas is one of 14 National Natural Landmarks in the State of Maine,[2] and is open to the public for a fee during the regular season.

It was mentioned I need a full size spare. Being new to the Cult of the Taco I have yet to look at my stock spare nestled so nicely in its place. Is it not a full size? Or am I gonna need to get another?
