How do you like that vantage ? I loved my old classic for Ditch pipe , but I'd normally load up the big blue for plant welding. Never got to try the Vantage.
    Haha damn straight.

    Fricken rail road tracks

How many of us will get the railroad track reference ??

The only real difference between the Lincolns and Miller are the Miller Marks if your not used to that hot start that ramps up the output 300%

I am not sure if that was a customers machine or one of our rentals

I got my Start with a SA-200 and LN-25 now I am pretty much all Miller

    Stuff. Also things.
Didn’t that happen while you were tubbing?

Anyway, you got damn lucky, Mike! Glad that didn’t end up much much worse. I remember having a few close calls when I was tubbing my truck that scared me pretty good.

Yeah. It's great having a machine with over 12k power for plant work on one side and engine power cleaned up by an inverter on the other, at the same time.

Basically the ability to run a rigid threader and weld at the same time haha

Building a new welding table 5’x7’. I beam top frame, 1” 1/2 in between 1’ panels so you can clamp from a any area on the table. Second picture is of first table I built. I need a shop. :)

Get in the Habit of rounding off your corners the trip to the ER wastes lots of time

Also the height of the table just might catch tender parts and that trip you won`t forget

So I’ve been thinking of upgrading machines recently to a machine that I’ll never outgrow and I came across a really good deal

Brand new Lincoln 256, Lincoln Viking 3350 hood, 135 bottle, some gloves, and a spool of wire for $2500. I talked the guy down to $1850 and he said he’d do it. Planning on selling the hood for sure and on the fence about the bottle or not. Might keep it as an extra.

If I sell the hood then I think I can get $175 for it and it’s a good deal for whoever buys it being that the hood is $250 brand new. At that point I’ll be in at $1675 for a brand new welder that cost $2500

Anyways, I told the guy I could pick it up next Saturday so I have a week to think about it haha

Shit, it’s too bad you’re on the best coast! I’d snag the bottle off you. I already went through my second 60 bottle. I need a bigger one.

    Congrats on the purchase.

Haha yeah man, if you’re welding a decent amount, you go through a 60 pretty quickly!

I appreciate it dude. Haven’t purchased it yet but I’m definitely stoked about the deal and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go through with it haha

What makes a welder like this better than the smaller 240v ones? It'll hold a 30lb spool right? But there has to be something more.... is it just built sturdier/ better?
Edit: nevermind, I see that it's 300A

Yeah mainly it can handle more than I’ll ever need. Has digital readouts for fine tuning. Has that “diamond core technology” that helps keep a super nice stable arc. My Hobart 210 is perfectly fine and I love it but just want to upgrade to a machine that will last me a long time. Have heard lots of good things about that particular machine

I have bend tech pro and it’s worth the money. If you’re just looking to build a few things for yourself then do bendtech EZ. It takes all the math out of bending and makes things much more simple. No trial and error on expensive pieces of tubing.

If you only plan on doing a couple things with it I’d be more than happy to give you whatever measurements you need and help you design your pieces if you don’t wanna spend the money. Your call. It’s worth the money though in my opinion

I think you would be dumb not to grab that rig. keep the bottle though. Having a spare is a must. Having to stop a hot project because you ran out of gas really sucks.

I transfer my own gas from bottle to bottle. I like to keep my bottles on both machines and fill them from the spare when needed. I hate bear hugging those bottles to get them on the tank perch on the welder.

In addition, thieves aren't going to walk off with that 256 welder as easy as the 210.

Definitely think I’m gonna do it. I was thinking the same thing. Sure will be nice to not have to make as frequent of trips to get gas.

And yes, the 256 is muuuch larger. Would certainly make it harder for people to steal even though it’s on wheels haha
