What’s up PA New member here. Conshohocken, PA. Moved here from Seattle about 6 years ago, was wondering if there are any off-road trails/parks in the area? In Washington they had a ton of them that were maintained by off-road clubs.

There is Rausch Creek and Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) They are both about 1.5-2 hours north of us. I don't know anything locally.

    Welcome to TW.

All I see online is like close to $500 or higher for replacement floors. Nope. Going with the free option that only costs my hobby time to cut and weld myself. :welder:

    Welcome TacoLoco17!

So here's my weekend progress report: Took me 2.5hrs to clean out the garage after a winter's neglect in order to fit the truck in there for however long I need for my projects. I got the old UCA off one side, and the coil-over out. That's it. Woulda done more but have to be the family man and not neglect them completely. Lots of PB Blaster, brute force, BFH work, and :sawzall:some a 'dat. Some joker, whenever the frame swap had been done with previous owner, installed the long UCA bolt backwards so that it had to be pulled in the direction toward the cabin rather than into the engine bay. Well... there's brake lines a couple inches behind the mount so I had to cut the bolt. Love that Diablo brand sawzall blade, highly recommend it. Then only 1 of the 3 upper mounting bolts of the spring seat could come out due to extreme rust and therefore rounding off of the nuts trying to unbolt them. Cut those two also. Thankfully the parts arriving today (used, from a fellow board member out in the Lake Tahoe area) have spring seats and the bolts for the UCAs. Next I have the joy of pressing out the upper ball joint from the spindle. I'm not planning on taking the full spindle off and putting it in a vice for the ball joint press out/in. Found a good writeup discussing getting two other rental tools (other than the usual ball joint press set). Though we don't have O'Reilly's around here, I need to track down how to find their "4wd ball joint adapter set, part #67048 or an equivalent somewhere. Wanted to get some of those parts out of the wheel well to help me have more wiggle room to then start welding that hole in the floor of the fender.

Oh... and srspicer, I meant to say yes, we had attempted floor repair a few years ago. That's why you see the white panel on the left side, was cut out of a clothes dryer and welded over the hole I had at THAT time.

The upper control arm bolt is installed threads towards front from the factory. Everyone installs it backwards the second time for convenience. I have a regular ball joint press you are welcome to borrow. I will be headed to Bowmansville either Thursday night or Friday morning.
And on balljoint removal from spindle. BFH hit the spindle face where ball joint goes in. Should pop it loose. If not I also have Pickel fork to separate them if needed.

Ohhhhhhhh. :frusty: The youtube I had been watching had it being pulled into the engine bay. I guess those people didn't realize or state that fact. Anyhoo, its cut off now.

Already did some BFH-ing to that upper ball joint. Left it at a goodly spray down again with the PB Blaster and was going to heat up the spindle with the torch before attempting to take a press to it. I also already have a decent pickle fork that attaches to the air hammer. Thanks for the tool offer! The trouble if I borrow that press from you is the extra driving to pick up and return it to you, rather than say the conveniently located Autozone where you can "borrow" :spending: one through the loaner tool stuff. Thought I did borrow that thing twice in the last few months for my Volvo repair projects and found the cup selection to be desired. From what I read the standard ball joint kit doesn't have the cups you would need to press the Tacoma balljoints out conveniently anyway, which was why it was suggested to get that O'Reilly 4wd ball joint adapter set, part #67048.
