Oh no do the Kings, ADS, Radflo, Fox's, Icon whatever those are a must. Screw doing all this work for some ford towers and 14" Billies.

Working on it. I will say this I can hang some clover leaf on/off ramps and near about pick the inside front tire off the ground and the rear stays planted.

Here is your tutorial. Step one find a place place that you can tear down and work all weekend that has all the tooling. Step 2 enlist a bunch of guys that work their asses off and can do just as much as you and can critically think through problems that arise. Step 3 help them out whenever they need help. Everything else will come together.

It did. I told Chris before I left, I can't help it but part of me is really nervous about a 4 hr ride home after all the work we did and the truck being in pieces just a few hrs prior.

You'd be a crazy person if you weren't nervous! That truck came a long way in a short time. Like firing up a motor for the first time after you rebuild it. I mean, you know you did everything right, but part of you still expects it to explode. Glad to hear it went well!

Ok for those that knew what went down this weekend and have been looking for postings more than just teasers here ya go

First off I don't think this could of ever happened without those guys who came and helped/hosted! This mod day/weekend had been planned for months. Huge thanks to @Casper66 @PyritePirateBill @EatSleepTacos @boogie3478 @pabstsmeared (simulated weight, he was key).

So I wanted to go 63s. I thought about HH and a relocation and different factory style spring set ups but none really I saw would give me what I was looking for. There were just too many compromises in my eyes compared to a 63 swap. Well I did a shit ton of research, bought a bunch of parts (most we could of made), and enlisted a great group of guys that I call friends because of how they helped me out and the fun we had.

So the journey begins Fri. I headed up to Chris' place with all my junk and some TW express stuff. I made a pit stop in Greensboro to pick up some plate and some tube. Little did the guys know I was going to throw them a curve ball and we were plating the frame.
    IMG_20190322_070715.jpg

Got to Chris' and imediately unloaded and began hacking and welding. Taking the bed off and gas tank out. Then while I pre-welded some of the brackets Chris cut all the plates for the frame. Yes this all happened Fri. from about 1 until 10 or so.
    IMG_20190322_131743.jpg IMG9510281.jpg IMG_20190322_145304.jpg IMG_20190322_153649.jpg IMG_20190322_161511.jpg
    IMG9510331.jpg

Like my CAD design worked like a charm
    [IMG]

Then Chris and I finally called it quits and hit the hay. Sat. we were up and at it again by 6:30 finishing up prep work for when the boys got there to really start moving right along.

Bill and Brian showed up first and after a few minutes of BSing Bill jumped in and started finish welding the shock towers and tacking the frame plates in as Chris finished fitting them.
    IMG_20190323_100905.jpg
Then Bill, Chris, and Randy went to town finish welding the frame plates (Sorry no pics of this)
Next was tacking all the spring brackets in place and setting up the shackle angle. This wooped our butts. My brain was a little fried and I got frazzled but having Bill and Randy taking measurements and talking through stuff something clicked and we got over the hurdle. This is where Matt came in he was key in being the Simulated weight!

    IMG_20190323_143052.jpg

Next hack off those god for saken lower shock mounts and setting the new lower mounts with the correct amount of shaft showing.

    IMG_20190323_164702.jpg
    Putting it all back together!
Yes Holleywood actually knows how to wrench on trucks. He also did a lot of the painting and worked on the bedside replacement

I like how you completely left out the real reason you were there Skipper.

The hanging of the new bedside was completely ignored

Cleaning off all the little bit of old mount ain't nobody got time for that shit!!!! It wasn't in the way so the hell with it paint it and it'll be good. Plus it'll be covered in dirt and not noticiable in a little bit anyways. My truck is not out to win a beauty contest or show. It's more of function over form build.

Out of everything we did I was most stoked and excited for this. Ever since I got my frame replaced a yr ago. NO shop has gotten my alignment where I want it. I've spent too much money on alignments and rubbing just sounds like shit and is so annoying!!!!!!!! Now I really need to find a good alignment place to get what I want as far as alignment goes.

No it wasn't you didn't read the part that Brian and a couple others did that and you can clearly see the new bedside in the finished pic. I seriously only took like 20 or so pics the whole weekend.

Wonder if King 2.0's would fit in the ford towers...those AG are nice, but literally 7x more expensive.

They will. They are more like the BAMF. But you gotta modify them a little so they don't lean out as far. 2.0s are good as well. You may even be able to do a 14" 2.0. they are the same size as 12" 2.5s as far as extended and collapsed length.
