Can you remove the 2 inside parts of the 2018 grill?

Ok, it’s dark and raining out so I’m asking y’all, can I remove the chrome bezel and the big center mesh part without taking the complete thing off or is that just the easiest way? I have decided to just paint the 2 parts matte black and skip on the knockoff Pro grill I was thinking about buying as I still need to pick up a winch and wanting to do 17” wheels and tires. I can only spend so much lol. I did try a search and google but just didn’t see this answer right off so thanks in advance!

I don't know why you'd want to struggle getting it apart and back together with it on, when it's so easy to take it off. But I guess you could if you wanted.

That’s what I was wondering, I’m wanting the easiest, safest (as in the less I take apart the less I can break) best way to get to the two parts I’m painting. If taking it all off is the way to go then that’s what I will do.

Watch a few videos first, it's not that difficult. If you paint, it's probably going to chip so if you really a don't want to take stuff apart, just get the SR Bezel. I think your dealer will be cheaper than the one posted earlier in the thread. I think I did mine for $80 or so.

It might work. But it's not going to bond like something that's baked like factory paint. You'll have to get bug guts off it eventually and rocks are definitely going to be attracted to the front of any vehicle. That's why I did the Bezel.

Since everyone has the faux pro grill now, I bought a black ring for an SR and replaced the chrome ring on my 2018 TRD OR. Super easy and it looks pretty awesome!

Your whole truck has a great look. Got pretty much the same look on my grill by having the chrome vinyl wrapped. Very happy with it without having to buy a new grill.

There are phillips screws that need to be removed in addition to popping the clips...pulling the whole grille assembly is by far the easiest way.

Agreed, it looks so much better without the chrome surround. I don’t understand why Toyota didn’t just do that as the stock option. And black bumper caps on the OR if not painted. I can’t imagine there is any cost savings in going with chrome instead of plain black.

Yep. Just replace the chrome bezel with a black one. Part number is 52711-04010. Easy. After you get the entire assembly off the truck, which is not hard but is a bit tedious.

I did the same thing. I don’t mind the Toyota logo that much
