    OOF so bad.... 4th clip setting with upside down spring seat... gotta be like 4 -5in of lift.

    @JsDCTRD PLEASE FIX THIS... without the spring seat on proper the seat clip is not captured and could easily pop out of the notch causing the whole spring assembly to drop.

    I have installed a lot of pads and rotors in my life, there's an awful lot of rust and wear on that rotor for just a "quick test drive"--just sayin'

    Were they broken in properly (a few hard stops from 35-40 mph with sharp reverse stops in-between)?

    To properly bed pads in, you never come to a full stop. many hard stops from higher speeds down to 5ish mph, then continue driving for adequate time with no stops so everything cools down properly and there is never a point in time where a super hot pad rests on a rotor in the same spot (stopped)

    Should of just bought factory Toyota rotors and pads without all the hassle.

    You should still bed them regardless of brand.

    in 20 years of driving never heard of bedding in breaks that helps them at all, I believe it's just an old wives tale. Just send it. But in your case OP something looks like it's installed incorrectly to be causing that abnormal wear.

    So bedding in the brake pads used to be necessary when the resins and binders needed to cure, these days most pads are scorched at the factory to heat up the pad material prior to installation. bedding in brake pads also allows for the transfer of pad materials onto the rotor, but I don't even do it. its not worth the risk since its possible to unevenly distribute the material and cause runout, pedal vibration. After install, I just drive normally and the brakes feel better each day until it levels out.
