I've been looking at this tent too and considered this rack setup from front runner. How stable/safe does it feel with it mounted right into the factory rails? Do you notice any issues?

@ragofabrication makes awesome stuff their “blemish” items are negligible errors. Absolutely recommend their products.

I have the @ragofabrication mid level overland rack in my DCLB. I’ve yet to set everything up but from what I’ve seen it’s all the same functionality wise.

Anybody here have tips or advice for changing out the cover straps for CVT/Tepui style tents? I need something stronger. I'm tired of my CVT filling up like a balloon at highway speeds.

I prefer the lashing straps like these with the fabric pad/protector behind the buckle to protect the cover when pulling tight.

I did it haha. I've been in the 1st gen for a few months now. Although I do miss the tech of the 3rd gen, loving the practicality of the 1st. Having an insurance payment under $100 is a perk as well ;)

swapped from the sliding ladder and swapped the side straps.

anyone know the difference between the Pioneer cover and the Summit? I am assuming less ladder space as the telescoping takes up much less space? My cover currently is pretty loose now around the ladder area, i dont want it ballooning on me while driving.

May as well throw this out - Goal was cheap and below roof cab line. Total spent was $808 for bars and tent. Annoying to setup and I always close it with my glasses in the side pocket and have to reopen it haha

Do you have a building permit for that rig? That's huge.

I’m getting 12mpg! 2019 Long bed off road 4x4 with camper. Only “mod” is new 265/75/16 ko2. Basically a stock taco. That 12mpg is mostly city driving.

Now the mpg I can deal with but the truck has a hard time keeping 80mpg on the highway; it wants to crouse at 70. I took the tent off today and the driving was substantially differentz.

If you’re interested at all in potential MPG gain check out OV Tune. I went from getting 17 to 20.
