Couldn't you also get longer socks? I know downsouthmotorsports offered an option for lifted tacomas on their kings. Or would the relocation still offer more travel?

The relocation offers more travel, as it allows for a longer shock to be mounted higher up. With a longer shock mounted in the stock location, you lose out on compression/"stuffing" the wheel as the shock can only shorten so much. If you are just looking for lift, yes you can run extended travel shocks in the stock location. If you are looking for lift AND increased wheel travel you may need to look into this relocation kit.

Yea you can't get longer shocks and put it in the stock location (just as @BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT mentioned). This kit makes it so the top of the shock is mounted higher on the truck

However, your leaf pack (springs) will give you the lift. The shocks help dampen the load.

That is correct, thank you for the clarification. Springs change lift/ride height, shocks help with ride quality.

    Thanks for the catch

Ok all good info thanks. More so needed this information to set in stone that I was gonna get this done. But you guys helped me out. And I already have OME 2.75 leaf packs so not worried about getting anymore lift.

Look at that sexy fucker. Resi mounts come in tomorrow but that didn’t stop me from taking a test drive. Thanks for a kick ass product Jerry.

I assume you can weld these in without removing the bed?

Yes, it's a pretty easy install with the bed on.

Sooooooooo, I read most of the above, but I didn't catch if this kit can be done on a standard 2.5-3" lifted Taco THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHACKLE FLIP AND STILL RUNNING STOCK SHACKLE MOUNTING? If it does work with the above setup, does that change the shock length?

It'll work fine. It just all depends how you set your lower shock mount and your bump stops. What leafs are you running?

I'm running brand new Dakar ELO96R and planning on some airbags too so I think I'm gonna loose a slight amount of compression travel too. I carry a ton of gear.
