Haven’t done mine yet but there’s some info on the 4runner forum or t4r ..mine leak a little but I don’t have time to tear all that stuff apart when it gets bad enough I’ll just have my mechanic do it

well in this case it started puking oil into the alternator and was catching fire...so i highly recommend that you don't let it get that bad lol

fortunately we had water right there to clear the oil out of the alternator, but i will 100 fucking percent be investing in fire extinguishers from now on. I do not want to be in that situation again without one.

Watch torquing down those valve cover bolts. Overtightening can crack the valve cover. I always snug down the easily accessible valve cover bolts every other oil change or so on all my 3.4's. They come loose.

    thats probably what happened here.

his 98 is about to turn over 246k and has not had a ton of maintenance. I did a simple tune up on it, we fixed the hole in the rear diff, and got him a spare that i still need to pick up from somebody, i think @Tonymontana still has it.

so its time to fix some things lol

I appreciate you as always Dave.

I put $25k down, financed $70k. Principal & interest my monthly mortgage is only $324 a month. I pay $600 a year for property tax & $600 a year home owners insurance. I pay those when they are due, not monthly. Most people I know pay more than $324 a month for a car payment.

No the ones we went through were the 2 down 15 mile creek way past that one. It had rained a bunch that week and they were a lot deeper than normal. We didnt do that one because it was way too deep and had a big log in the middle.

    Those are never really “bad”

People live back in there and that is the only way in and out as far as i know.

I remember laughing at that whole video lol

I’ll put it this way, when those look like that, the ones on the south side at Lower Town Creek and Maniford, are basically uncrossable.

Well have to plan for a time when its rained, but its not stupidly wet. When its so muddy that you can’t even walk around, thats not fun for me.

Opinion: Got brand NEW Wheels & Tires mounted and balanced today. 2 of the rims needed 6oz of weight on them. Seems to be a little much for brand new out of the box rims. Thoughts?
