Never used the diode as I have the aob dual rocker switch. The photo shows that Brian included it for me but never installed

Thanks papa Dave, was curious because I installed the full kit 2 days ago and I couldnt get it to work with an aob switch. Only the rear camera would come up. But when I used the switch Brian sent with full kit it worked perfectly . But I noticed Brian's switch had a diode connected in back of switch and thought that may be the difference. Thanks again for your response. I am so happy with my install.

If that is your front camera in the lower part of the schematic, then it will be powered up whenever the truck is on. Not necessarily a bad thing and one way of installing this mod..

But, by keeping what I have circled and deleting what I have 'X''ed out, the front camera will only be powered when selected by the switch.

Just a suggestion and how I configured my install.

that is the front camera, so if I run camera red to switch green(splice) the cam will be powered, assuming by red from relay ? this would be easier actually than messing with the fuse, but my switch only has four pins where yours has 6 no

Yes, my switch has 6 terminals. Not sure what type of switch is in your kit and I am not sure the colors of the wires. Its been awhile since I installed the kit.
But, if Papadave418 likes your post above, then you're probably on the right track.

I used your diagram and everything works as it should. I wanted to put and inline fuse on the front camera power wire but didn’t because the wire is way smaller gauge than the wires the fuse holder I had.

So I did my install this weekend with no real issues. Both cameras and the switch work correctly. To power the front camera, I tapped into the EFI fuse under the hood (temporary solution as I have a Blue Sea fuse block to install when I have the time). However, I'm now seeing the "trac off" and "check engine" lights staying on and throwing a P0562 (System Voltage Low) code via my OBDII reader. I also noticed that my cruise-control doesn't work either. But that seems to be a result of the computer reading that there's a problem with the voltage and shutting it down to avoid any additional damage. Any idea if this is related to the where I tapped in? I went back and check all the connections and it all seems right. Any help is appreciated.

Disconnect the EFI tap and place the original EFI fuse back into the fuse box. See if your issue clears.

@n6vmo has the best solution here. Some day I’ll change mine once I can make sense of the diagram! I see a lot of shapes and squiggly lines....

I disconnected from the EFI and replaced it with a normal 10amp fuse and, after resetting the light, the issue seems to have been resolved. So the issue definitely has to do with the tap (via add-a-fuse). I was planning on installing the blue-sea fuse block this weekend anyway so unless someone has another thought, I'll just plan on that. That should solve my problem.

I have a blue sea fuse block but mine is always live so I wired the front camera like n6vmo to only get power when the front camera switch is in the on position. I might still wire it the the fuse block later so I can put a fuse on it.

Does anyone use the camera that anytime backup camera uses in their kit? Wondering if the quality is good or do I get a different camera
