    Looking at your truck build you clearly know a thing or two about tuning these trucks! Will the HP software allow a user to eliminate the bloody rev hang that plagues the later (2013-15) 4.0L trucks? I loathe the rev hang with a manual, it makes me want to explode.

    @Halligan, I assume it will but cannot confirm as I haven't done one myself. Hp Tuners has been adding more vehicles to their supported list and I was excited to see the 2nd Gen Tacoma added.
    For the record I run Haltech but this has peaked my curiosity for sure. I may just give this a try.

    NOTE: The one thing I do not like about the product is that it is email support only. There is no number to call to troubleshoot or get support. So if you run in to an issue it could take a while to get it resolved.
    This is where Haltech kills it. Their customer service is the best in the industry in my experience so far.

    I emailed them to see if they have a sample tune file. I downloaded the beta VCM editor but it doesn't have one for a tacoma, I am really curious to see what it can do.

    A little Q and A with HP Tuners today.

    1. Can I tune for the larger injectors? Yes you can compensate for larger injectors in the calibration.
    2. Can I use the GM flex fuel sensor and provide the input to the mpvi2? The factory system does not use a flex fuel sensor and the MPVI2 does not currently have a frequency input that would be able to log a GM flex fuel sensor.
    3. When using flex fuel can is there any room in the ECU for auto scaling for E85? If the vehicle has a flex fuel calibration there will be flex fuel parameters available for variation in ethanol content.
    4. What type of mapping is being done? Is it speed density/VE? The OEM fueling strategy is MAF based, you should not lose any functionality as our software only makes changes to the oem calibration.
    5. Do you lose any factory functionality such as VSC or have any issues with DTC's causing CEL's? You should not lose any functionality as our software only makes changes to the oem calibration.
    6. I would like to check out the software but it tell me there is no device connected when I try. Is there a way to see what is available for my vehicle in the software? If you do not have an MPVI2 you will not be able to open any files.

    Yes, you can use larger injectors change timing and fueling parameters. The downside is no E85 solution.

    Is no E85 support more of a limitation of the 1GR ECU than a missing software feature? No E85 is a shame, but for me isn't a dealbreaker.

    This means I could ditch the UCON, but still keep my 640cc injectors. Very tempting. They list transmission control as well. I wonder what sort of things can be done. I have the complete built transmission from IPT and it shifts great, but the logic in the ECU could use some work.
