I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Looks like there are some 16+ DB covers in case anyone is looking!

Didn't realize you had a second Gen. You'll be lucky if you find one on the outlet since they probably aren't producing many for the older gens.

My brother has been watching it for an older f150 but they don't post many. My guess is since most people aren't looking for a cover if it's not a newer truck.

I'm having second thoughts about mounting bars to the DB by drilling into it. Does anyone know or would try to see if mobtown tonneau bars will fit between the c-clamps of the middle panel?

I'd like to still be able to open the front panel while the roof top tent is on since I have a crossbin

Hey I was looking at a DB cover and I was also considering a headache rack. I don't like the style of one's from DB. I was wondering if anyone has come up with any alternatives. Maybe one that can be used with the DB 270. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Along those same lines . . . anybody got pics of the DiamondBack with the low profile headache rack on a Tacoma?

Anyone else get the "cab-panel safety recall kit" in the mail?

I just got one in the mail today. Looks like wire cables to attach the front panel to the middle panel so that it can't fly off the truck....

    Anyone else?

I ordered mine with the most recent group buy. It came with those “safety” cables pre-installed.

I think their product is well built and is safe. I won't be installing this. I keep my front section locked, which is the most dangerous and likely to be blown off. If I'm in a roll over, i have worse things to worry about.

I am curious what happened and how though.

I have yet to get that recall mod. Gotta check the e-mail to see if there was an e-mail notification on that. I'm curious, too, as to what lead to that.

This is the email that I got from Diamondback.

"DiamondBack has initiated a voluntary product recall as a proactive measure to ensure your safety, and the safety of other motorists.

We have been contacted by several customers who, while traveling at highway speeds, have seen their cover’s cab panel forced open, and subsequently removed from the truck bed.

Each case involved an HD or SE cover built from March 2018 through February 2019 or a black hinge retrofit for a cover built before then. In each reported case, the customer failed to close and lock the cab panel, as instructed in the owner’s manual. Proper closing and locking of panels prevents this problem from occurring.

Because safety is our greatest priority, DiamondBack is providing all affected customers with cab-panel tethers which is reflected in the shipment details below."

I have to call BS on this....unless they left it open. There is simply no way for that panel to just “fly” off with it being secured.

If I had to guess, the panel bars that slide into the rails were probably not properly adjusted during installation and not going far enough into the rails when closed. The cables just provides another safety measure to ensure the panel doesn't fly off and strike another vehicle. It doesn't help in keeping the panel closed.

I agree, they mentioned it in their email apparently.

Nice heads up on recall. I’ll have to remember that ,especially, when I find one secondhand.
