I’ve had this cheap little set forever. It’s worked on everything i’ve needed. If they’re tight, a few taps with a breaker bar and hammer could help.

Another option to remove that nut, angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and a very steady hand. (Not the best way, but it would work. Cut it horizontally in half) be sure to hold it with something.

 

good idea here..more my style...i was thinking I "could" use the saws-all to possibly cut a section of the lower lip off that 'C'-channel. originally thought I had a messed up 'C'- channel and that by removing the channel and getting a new channel i could solve problem...the 'C' channel is messed up, just not as bad as i thought, and it is a lot stouter than I thought. yesterday when i pulled the double layer angle-aluminum off, I inadvertently pulled the the driver side Habitat one-half inch rearward. AT used some serious industrial double-stick adhesive to hold those pieces together. moved it back into position with a ratchet strap, a long 2x4 across the hatch mouth, and a new mount on my forward bed platform. thanks for tool suggestions and ideas.

It’s also helpful to PB blast (or liquid wrench) the bolts to help free them.

i'm on board with this. got one today, and those screws backed out in seconds

 

That tool is by far the most used tool in the arsenal, with the 3/8 adapter It cuts the time it takes to do things in half.

 

You think the small impacts are nice... try a li-ion 1/2” impact.

I have both the hex drive type for little things, but that 1/2” has put my compressor into mothball. It’ll crank off lug nuts like you wouldn’t believe. Watched a buddy twist the head off a ring gear bolt because he didn’t realize it was reverse thread.

 

Any pictures of the power set up inside the rear of the Habitats & Summits?
How wires are pulled, placed, fuse panels etc.

You talking about how we might have done it, or how AT wires it when you buy the options?

 

If I could do it all over again, I'd mount a blue seas fuse panel to the wall of the habitat. I ran everything to the hood.

I have a Blue Sea fuse panel in a box in the bed (along with my additional batteries, charger, etc.). I installed 4 Blue Sea outlet (2x cigarette and 2x USB) in the vertical rails.




Luckily for me, I have small fingers. I dropped the screw on retention rings down through the very top hole in the corner. Had to run the wires up from the bottom, putting them through said retention ring, then out through the hole where the wires could be attached to the back of each outlet. Then I had to use a finger through another hole to tighten the ring on the back of each outlet.

 

60a circuit breaker on the fuse block, 4ga welding ground wire to blue sea fuse block with bus-bar in bed.





Right now runs fridge and USB Charger with volt meter. Soon to run compressor as well.

 

I have am now the proud owner of a used habitat!


I build a frame to swap it off the old owners truck and put it on mine. Some minor tweeks and it’s on minus the bolts. Thinking about using the clamps if I can peal the old tape off the L-channel.

 

I agree except that the prices should be more reasonable than everyone would... it's amazing quality product but even more so amazing is how expensive this stuff is.

 

curious where did you pick up that fold down table for the CBI bumper, and do you have a photo of how your jack stand is mounted? I think it calls for another bracket?
