I've been thinking of getting these, too. I'm at 112k, myself.

 

My SAAB 900iS had 365k miles on it before the transmission blew up. My dad had it then I did. I then Koni'd out the suspension, went straight pipe, Sparco 4-pt harness and custom air box and weight reduction within SCCA Solo2 rules for H-Stock division and raced the bejesus out of it for years.

 

Well, most of you put miles up MUCH faster than I! It's on FB, and it's only $10 each with shipping. And they are 3D!
I figure if I can put a compliment sticker on Little Big Red, and keep up my maintenance, she will be thrilled with me!

 

I'm averaging 15k/year, but I've put 3k on it this past month soooo...

 

In my poorer rock and roll days, I was a sound man at a night club, and one of my best friends was the operator of a junkyard in South Bend. He mentioned on night that they had just got a non running Fiat 124 Spyder in the yard. Beers later, we decided we would make it run, and go join SCCA.
Bad news. Picked it up to move it the next week, and it snapped in half!

Could have been worse. Could have snapped in half while you were driving it!

Pulled a 1st Gen Honda Civic off a railway crossing once. They hit the crossing & the front Shocks went clear thru the hood & she stayed right there. Shock Towers were rusted out that bad.

 

Yeah, about right. My "first car" was a 64 bug, and that was because the 61 I could have inherited from Dad already lost the floor boards. Rust was so bad that it came through the floor board in in the 64, through the brake cable, and FROZE the cable. I had a small accident - in front of the police car behind the car I bumped....."nolo contender".

This was after it hit the back of a road grader snow plow in a blizzard. But, that is a different story....

That shell will be filled with tomato's, peppers, herbs and plant cuttings by the end of the week. Adjustable shelves let me put veggies at wife height for one stop shopping. Cuttings and such will be below. Never been the same for two years in a row. But it does have a wooden screen door, on a spring, for that "you grew up with that sound"!

 

FYI if left on full year for "visual", covers will last only two years in our region of TX.
