Finishing up the other bumper stuff tonight and hopefully have enough time for the steps and rails.

 

Hate it or love it...new plate after registration.

 

Vegas cement here too but I opted for the VGK plates. No pics yet, though.

Truck looks great! What size tires are those? Any lift? I want to get new tires for my truck (currently stock) but I don’t want to mess with the suspension and want to keep it as is, just add new wheels. Any recommendations?

 

Still a baby Taco. Any mod recommendations?? Don’t know where to start. I want to add TRD rims but don’t want to alter the suspension. Thoughts??

Your a lucky man. I'm kind of jealous seeing pic's of your trip. My family will not even think about doing a trip like this. They think roughing it is waiting to check in at the airport to go to the resort.

I got the same truck in the short bed about a month ago. The 4 Runner TRD Pro wheels and tire fit good with not suspension change. Went up a tire size too (265/70/17). Had to pull the nerf bars off as soon as I got home and the dealer gave me credit for them.

 

We do the same trip every year in March, Land Between the Lakes, it’s not too far from Louisiana and only 4 days long. Come join us solo, or drag them with. We’ve had some folks that stay in a hotel somewhere nearby due to bad backs or whatever, but honestly, 4 days or less of camping is pretty easy. And it’s a pretty safe event for stock trucks. Better tires help and rock sliders are nice to have, but we’ve had bone stock trucks come along and have a good time.

 

Truck looks great! Did you need to take the nerf bars off? Were they getting in the way? I would love to grab those tires and keep the bars on if possible.

 

Thanks, it should have been a keeper and I regretted trading it pretty quickly.

 

It's the textured black TPO option. Looks exactly like the rear bumper step pad material (and also flares).

 

I meant to ask, your wheels are SCS Ray 10's in Matte Gunmetal or Matte Gray?

It’s cobalt 9h ceramic spray. Good product so far. Used it on my wife’s Mazda months ago still holding up nicely.

 

I have always had a lifted truck or Jeep w/ 35" tires and I had to have nerf bars. Decided to try a Toyota truck again that was just a little higher than stock and not too aggressive. At 6 foot tall, I didn't need the nerf bars to get in to this one, plus I thought it made the truck look lower to the ground. It was purely a personal decision.

 

That makes sense! I haven’t had the chance to take my truck on any trails now. Considering it is not a 4x4 not sure if I would have any issues. Have you had the chance to take yours out on any trails? Any experience off roading with a non-4x4?

 

We did it for a few years with the Prerunner. Just gotta be careful and use momentum whenever possible. Not a bad idea to place yourself between 2 tow vehicles, although I never had to use one. You’ll have fun on mellower trails
