Has anyone tried both 87 perf and 93 perf - is there a power difference at (Texas) highway speeds (85 mph +) and how the truck reacts when encountering a hill? I commented before that I flashed back to 87 base, since I couldn't deal with 87 perf and the massive downshift that occurs when needing a little bit of power to get over a hill (engine essentially goes from 2500 rpm to 6000 rpm - nothing in-between). I can deal with the truck downshifting all the way when I need power (when passing), but not when all I require is just a little more "oomph" to get over a hill...
Trying to figure out if the 93 octane performance tune will make a perceivable difference at those speeds and comparatively low 2500 rpm. Mat said before that the shift points between the performance tunes are identical (but the calculated torque isn't), so I don't really think it's going to be worth it - might have to wait until Mat remaps the tranny shift points.

Me too, i have been on SSP since BM, and same here, since the 1.05 release i rarely use it, only sometimes if the situation needs higher rpms at all times, like entering the freeway with a mix of fast traffic, or sometimes when i am in more of hurry on the surface streets I get annoyed with the 1100rpm lugging along, i engage it and it purrs along around 2200rpm.

Try the 93, I dont know about a your 85+ mph but at 70 on 93 oct stock tire with 600lb added passengers. My truck havent downshift at all and still keeping my speed on the freeway even on small hills.

We've narrowed down the shuttering issue that only happens on some trucks.
It's the torque converter. After testing everything we've got it solved.
The shuttering / bumpy road / stumble in low RPM that some trucks experience is from the torque converter sequence.

There will be a modified tune version available in flash manager when released that will be the same tune + Shutter fix. Since it doesn't happen to all trucks even with the same ECU ID, we recommend only people with this issue use those files.

They are not posted yet, but will be with all other updates.

Thanks for looking into this. Mine has had this issue and I’ve just learned to deal with it, but now I can finally have a smooth power delivery:)

Ditto here with the low RPM shutter, but it happened on stock too so its been hard for me to understand what was going on, Also Think I might have a tire out of balance too. Its so hard to isolate is going on, didn't seem to be misfires either.

Don't know if it's the same issue but when I let of the gas after moderate to hard acceleration I get a shutter. Doesn't happen all the time though. Should I flash this fix? Or is this a different problem. Thanks Mat!

Still running the 1.04r 91 octane. In my opinion it's still the smoothest of all the tunes I've tried on my otherwise stock 17 4x4.

@OVTune not necessarily tune related... BUT how about a notification email to announce aforementioned updates? Maybe your site already has an RSS feature that I am unaware of, but having to keep coming back to this thread to check the status cannot be the optimal solution.

Maybe the answer is a separate thread that only you are allowed to post in. We could then subscribe with notifications.

To be clear, that problem is different than (or separate from) the 04B30 issue, correct?

Interesting development - I have always had some level of stutter at low RPM higher gear scenarios when running regular 87 gas stock and, to a lesser extent tuned, but I run 93 tuned or not b/c it settles down the exhaust resonance / vibrations as well as eliminates the "slight miss" or "bump in the road" feel at low RPMs. Then, of course this makes me wonder - if higher octane gas eliminates this problem and it's believes to be TC related is it simply b/c calculated torque and thus the behavior of the shift points and TC locking/unlocking is different purely based on the timing advance ?

I narrowed this down to condition when the truck gets stuck in 5,6 with TC locked, RPM below 1500 and load over 60%. Also you can see TC temps going up a bit when encounter this.

Yes it does. But you missed the part of alleviating the requirement of visiting this dumpster fire thread to find out if there has been a new release.

Higher Octane gas does not eliminate it in my experience. It started on me when I flashed to 93Base from 93Perf (on the same tank of 93 octane). I flashed back to 93Perf and it still did it. After this I put in a tank of Top Tier 93 octane (thinking bad gas) and it didn't help. Then I flashed to stock and it went away. Now I'm running 87Perf on 87 octane no issues.
