    That’s a cool idea.

    Even without the fail safe the AFR/Boost gauge is worth it.

    Failsafe AFR / BOOST gauge arrived. Buying it was the easy part.
    Now to get it installed.
    I’m pretty excited about this failsafe function on this guage with the methonal kit
    because if the methonal nozzle is clogged or ran empty or the pump not putting out
    enough pressure or some other issue the gauge will actually cut the boost from the supercharger so
    your engine will never be in danger of running lean or to rich. This type failsafe guage is probably
    a must have if running a methonal kit or a supercharger with ping issues for engine protection.

    How does boost cut work on a s/c? Does it force open the actuator on the back for the blower? Also, do you have to drill out and weld in a new bung for the O2 sensor or does it replace the stock pre cat sensor?

    Would have to be added in addition. Can't replace the stock o2 with it.

    In theory yes it would open the bypass valve. How..I'm not sure.

    You have to weld the bung in, not sure yet on the boost but it looks like there this a control valve
    that goes inline to the bypass valve, so I guessing the guage control valve controls the bypass valve.
    Just got it so will see

    That all makes sense.
    I was curious about the O2 sensor b/c I know with the PLX AFR you can replace the stock sensor and wire the aftermarket sensor to the stock ecu so it reads it as a narrow band signal at the same time at sending a wideband signal to the Gauge.

    I guess I was just curious if Innovate had the same feature

    I bought the wrong model.
    Should have been the SCG-1: Solenoid Boost Controller & Wideband O2 Gauge
    NOT the PSB-1

    just curious if you welcome random comments and/or questions on your build thread :confused: 15pages a bit to look through :cool:

    i like the skid plate you have, mine is still OEM and a bit weathered, is that a full skid plate or just a cover? is it after-market? I had asked a parts dealer in AZ about my options and they said none, nothing else would fit on mine

    alright thanks, it looks like an old closed deal for the skid but I left a message there and will add to my bucket list

    I recently received one of the custom aluminum battery hold downs for 1st gen (black with red) from @Coupe and am going to attempt to install that this weekend while the weather here is nicer than it has been this past week.
    it looks like you have something similar? did you put a rubber or plastic grommet/washer in between the holddown and metal part? When I took out the old original bolt and top washer (there was no washer in between) I noticed a bit of bare metal from abrasions (probably has only been removed 2 or 3 times with a battery change so lots of humidity weathering inside the threads, had to clean it out with some WD40 and Qtip)

    I tried finger screwing in the new supplied silver bolt but it will only go down so far (about a quarter inch gap) and don't think I should be forcing and ratcheting it down when the old one will finger tighten flush, plus the original bolt and washer is already black and matching, so maybe keep the old bolt the way it is, I shall see.

    Do you have the original white plastic battery tray or something else? I have a large amount of pooled water on it from having to get washed every other day and missing the engine compartment weather strips that used to keep that overspray out.
    ...I don't have a good camera phone (yet) to take pics for better illustrations

    Yup, got mine from him also, I don't believe I used a rubber washer, it bolted in without any issues. The plastic tray I tossed years ago

    Hey John, how often do you clean the K&N filter. Mine is looking really dirty since installed about 15k ago. Also i have not checked the nozzle for the meth kit o_O
    So far i have 15k with the meth kit and no issues. This summer i am definitely installing the afr gauge and getting a tune.

    Hello, cleaning the air filter depends on your area, I usually clean mine when it looks really dirty which is about 20-40k miles just depending on how it looks and the conditions I’ve been in.

    Spray the oil very very lightly on the filter after it’s dry from cleaning.

    I don’t remember your setup, but Remember with the methonal nozzle if it gets plugged or part plugged
    you probably will not know unless you hear some pinging. Unless you have a weather vain type indicator that actually shows the methonal moving through the system.

    If you have 15k on the system I would pull it out and just take a look to see how it’s doing as it only takes a few minutes to inspect it.

    The one thing that I was confused was that my my methonal light was coming on as it’s designed to when it’s spraying but the nozzle was actually 3/4 plugged up and the truck was running lean.

    The nozzle is something to check regularly and have a spare on hand just in case.

    I would check it every 10-15k miles the nozzle to be safe

    I noticed yesterday when i was in boost the gauge didn't show full spraying although i was at 7psi of boost ( stock pulley ).
    Will have to monitor the nozzle today.
