Used full size are very cheap as well especially when you tear out alot of options. ram 1500 2wd extended cab can 60k miles 2014 - 2016 can probably be had
    for 17 - 24k.

^^^This I have no problem with. I don’t think it’s ridiculous, it’s the right thing to do and JT is a bigger man for it.

You gotta pay your respects to other’s beliefs, even if they are not your own. I’m a white man raised in a somewhat Christian household. For years I did endless work for the Vancouver Sikh community in their temples, repairing their data and sound systems. Those people treated me like gold. They were way more appreciate of my efforts than the many Christian churches I also worked at in the Fraser Valley (super creepy places). The Sikhs always fed me , thanked me, and never argued about the bill. To work in their temples I had to wear a small cap on my head and take off my work boots. No biggy.

In short, you can criticize a man for his economic policies, but you must respect someone who honours another man’s beliefs.

Religion is a banned discussion on TW so if mods want to delete my comment, sure, but also delete the quoted comment.

    Nuff said.

Canada is an awesome country ! Love living here!
Back to original thread , there are a lot of Tacomas on the road in my area. Definitely one of the most popular vehicle choices for mountain bikers, skiers, outdoor lovers.

Canada lover too! I see quite a few in my area, I would say the Colorado/Canyon definatly doninates in the midsize category around here though. Which is mostly due to lower interest rates and specials GM has on all the time here I would guess. I have never seen any sort of special or deal offered on Tacoma’s in my area and the rates are piss poor, 4-5% over 5 years. Have yet to see a Ranger on the the road. I’m talking 3rd gens and newer style Colorado/Canyon, Ranger.

Yeah, I was on the local lot looking at new trucks and the TRD PRO is $60G plus tax/insurance , no extended warranty. Yikes !
Needless to say I will be driving my 2013 pretty much till it dies or I give it to the kids.

Toyota also has some of the highest finance rates and some people base the borrowing costs against their purchase decision and some don't. Finance charges add up , you could spend $2500-$7500 over the loan term in interest alone. That is a lot of money that could go into accessories and add on gear.

This. If I'm not mistaken, the Tacoma just had its best January and February ever.

I think the price of cheese curds and poutine gravy has gone up and no one has money to pay for them....
I also heard the die hards in Canada have been lifting them so they no longer fit in the Tim Horton's drive through...
    Oh the humanity....

The thing that is not really well understood about the Canadian / US dollar value relationship is that the manipulation of that value is totally intentional. A high Canadian dollar hurts both the US and Canadian economies. An extremely high portion of the Canadian economy is based around selling resources and manufactured items to US businesses (primarily). Neither country seeks out dollar equity or a high Canadian dollar. A lower Canadian dollar is what they are shooting for when they announce policies and manipulate factors that directly affect money markets. It keeps Canadian resources and labour affordable, which benefits USA based businesses using Canadian parts and goods, and keep Canadian businesses busy keeping up with demand.

When the US economy suddenly crashed around 2008, our dollar ended up unexpectedly and suddenly high, and the last 10 years of effort has been by both countries to drive that value back down to where they want it. Sometimes it gets a bit out of sorts, but they target around 72 cents US per Canadian dollar. That’s when the system is optimized across the border.

Those that think it’s just an organic process and isn’t controlled need to spend more time reading on the toilet. As a Canadian citizen, it sucks if you want to buy a USA made product like a Tacoma, but you can also afford a Tacoma because you get to keep your job servicing the American economy, in a roundabout way.

Yes, a lot has to do with the exchange rate...that being said, ya can't swing a dead cat here in Sask without hitting a Tacoma.
