Drove 100 miles to work, mo problems. Leave work in the morning and it's idling rough and I get a check engine light. Take to dealer, after a day of diagnostics, thet say I need two new injectors. They are corroded at the tip. A $2000 repair estimate.

Never had an issue until now

    71k miles

    I'm pissed

A buddy of mine brand new gm had a bad injector at 6k miles. Still didnt fix the problem after replacing one. Had to replace the whole left side of Injectors.

It happens. You might have gotten bad gas somewhere.

I dont know how that matters just figured I'd ask... all gas I thought has additives to keep injectors clean which I would assume helps with corrosion :annoyed: sorry man, I wonder if this is a defect?

I would find a local mechanic, and maybe get a second opinion also to confirm corrosion, unless you know how.

    Not where I live.

Source: on a first name basis with multiple guys who work at the gasoline (and other products) distribution facility in our region. They also do all the additive / prep before distributing to fuel stations.

Costco gets, apparently, the worst of 3 recipes.

All injectors have a spec to be within for the whole set to work properly or they will cause problems. Sorry to say replace two now and you will be replacing the rest later.

Foreman at Toyota told me similar.

Someone dedicated to only Costco gas in a new Chevy at 35k miles needed some major work done just because of the gas quality.

I've read that some Top Tier stations have gotten in trouble for not sticking to the Top Tier standards...meaning they do what they have to in order to get the Top Tier label but then go back to using poor quality fuel afterwards. I don't know how the system works if they get tested yearly, at random, or what. Just remember reading that somewhere once, for what it's worth

I use the local chain 80% and Costco the other 20%

Well I know absolutely nothing about IL but heres what I found at least.

Fass fuel are diesel injector manufacturing? Lol idk....

Amoco was purchased by BP who's supposedly #1 Top tier by the almighty google. However I wouldn't be surprised that Amoco is getting the cheap stuff so BP stays up top.

Would running BK44 through it help prevent it? That stuff seems legit, I used it on my old T100 and it cleared an injector that was missfiring.

I've sent 13b and 7.3 injectors out to be reconditioned and tested and it cost much less than the price of new injectors.

All my toyotas were and are on Costco gas. Never had injector and any fuel related issue. Costco is better gas compare to the major chains

First, I though the 3.5L went through an injector cleaning cycle every now and again. You know, that clicking sound that sometime bothers people who don't know what it is. Second, can't comment on BK44 but I would try a double dose of Techron. It's known to keep injectors clean when added to gas like you get at the Chevron stations.
