They could lead the midfield this year if they had kicked Grosjean to the curb.

Of course not, why even mention that? His problem is he tends to make may too many mistakes. That's a shame because I really want Haas to succeed.

Was it? Because I saw at least one other team have troubles with exactly the same wheel. Did they change something in the wheel, and is it sensitive to courses with a lot of turns in a particular direction? It could have been coincidence but I'm holding judgement.

Williams -- OMG. It breaks my heart to see it.

My wife and I spent most of our F1 watching time trying to figure out who TF was in what car.

I think Kimi had a good time, and comported himself well. Taking last year's also-ran roadblock to a points finish is quite the feat. I was really struck by the differences between drivers on the same team; several of them had huge gaps between them. Again though I'm withholding judgement. Race #1 of a season with many changes.

HOWEVER -- F1 tech had better get their act together on the front wing attachment. Those things fall off FAR too easily, and the result can be catastrophic.

“It’s deja vu,” said a gutted Steiner after the race. “It was just a wheel stop gone bad. [We recovered] by putting it on a second time but something got damaged… when we put it on with sheer force the second time around.”

They mentioned the extra rain lights but they were a bit hard to notice in daylight

I have nothing but good wishes for the kid, but he has big shoes to fill. I hope he is ready for the big top at the circus. Otherwise he may be set up for failure.

He did well but doesnt always mean they will do well in F1. It is sort of like going from College sports to NFL/NBA/MLB/ect. Going to be better drivers, faster cars, and a lot more $$ at stake.

I was thinking along the same line as Nick. There are plenty of excellent drivers in F1 without results, and it's not directly tied to talent. With the Schumacher name, expectations are going to be off the charts by teams and fans. I mean, Seb is a great example. 4 time champion, with great skills, and underwhelming performance at Ferrari. If Seb was in Lewis' seat, he would probably be an 8 time champ. Talent goes so far, but there are so many other factors beyond the driver.

I'm predicting back to back victories for Bottas. First corner carnage but hopefully not from Max. :fingerscrossed: Grosjean will crash out.

My guide is calling the Saturday entry "Pre-Qualifying". I sure hope that's wrong.
