Work turned to shit really quick this morning. Unearthed the top of the septic tank/lift station to add a pump out riser only to find the top of the tank on the verge of caving in. So we're now in the beginning stages of putting in a new tank.

The really bad side to this is there are 3 more tanks of the same vintage I'm going to have to unearth the tops of. This may turn into one big goat screw. But, since the 1st one is the lift station it's a bigger unit (2-2500 gallon tanks paired) as opposed to the others being smaller (guessing single 2500's or smaller). That Benny Hill music is starting to get louder....

Not sure everyone is going to like all the potty water hitting the lake and river.

 

I'm going to stick my neck out again... I suck at parking. I can back up a trailer around corners, and back up to the barn, through gates, but in town I have not mastered backing into a parking spot. I'm sure there are some tricks to it and I'm all ears if you care to share The access cab is only a foot shorter than the double cab, so probably behaves pretty much the same. I look for those spots you can pull through, driving out definitely beats back out, but backing in is the prerequisite

 

The problem with parallel parking with a truck is the longer the wheel base the shallower the angle will be in the transition so actually you do need more space to straighten out by the curb. Will need to be a little further from the other vehicle in parallel because of the wider turning radius. It’s all practice. But for sure you need more space behind you to straighten out.

I was actually thinking more of backing in to a spot, at right angles to the lane. I parallel park ok (mostly look for end spots though to be safe) but I watch trucks just stop, reverse, and presto like it's nothing they are backed in and ready to drive straight out.

 

What helps with parallel parking is a back up camera !!!

 

When I drove a 22ft flatbed I got real good at it. Just enough room between trucks and every old fart watching you
