I'm looking at getting a new truck for my postal route. I heard Toyotas never die and I really like the look of the Tacoma. I was wondering if I could completely remove the center console both top and bottom to reach the pedals on the other side. I'm not sure if there is anything really important under it though like a cpu or anything.

and drive it like that? haha

wouldn't you be better off getting a right-hand-drive vehicle to begin with?

    also welcome to TW

Yeah they don't sell new rhd anymore Jeep stopped doing that. I've used a canyon and most recently a Dakota which is no longer with us. I can drive from the right side on my route no problem we all do it. Just didn't know of the center console had something on it super important that need to be covered.

Maybe a hybrid Prius would be better ? I dunno what your route calls for. Are you in an arid part of the country where a 2wd 2.7l would do the job and then some ? Or are you looking at studded tires and 4x4 in the winter ??

I have a 100 mile route with heavy parcels and snow lol that's why I've used trucks. And the abs module might be important. Damn might have to convert it instead...

could you buy a well-kept imported RHD vehicle or does it have to be new?

I want something new with a warranty. I've put two engines in my Dakota and a transmission. It was practically a 2018 Dakota with all the new parts lol.

It's not hard just reach your leg over and arm. Do you not have rural carrier's in your area? I want a mail truck but they won't give me one lol been asking for years.

Unfortunately not many left here, mostly community boxes here. I just remember them always reaching across or a random assortment or RHD vehicles.

Wait wait wait.... maybe I'm dumb but I dont understand. You want to sit on the passenger side and swing your legs over to the pedals on the left? :help:

How "legal" and safe is this lol. Am I not picturing this right?

They do it all over America every day. My carrier sits on the passenger side and drives a LHD vehicle. You'd be surprised how good they are at it.
