Have a VERY hard time believing Costco would fake gas quality.

Fake? Who said they faked anything. I said they aren't using the same additives / cleaners as others, not that they're faking anything.

    "Not where I live.

Source: on a first name basis with multiple guys who work at the gasoline (and other products) distribution facility in our region. They also do all the additive / prep before distributing to fuel stations.

Costco gets, apparently, the worst of 3 recipes."

Good for you. Now use those old man reading eyes. I never once said they faked anything. Just because they have the worst of 3 recipes of gasoline leaving the facility doesn't mean they're faking anything.

That is very disappointing. It almost should be a goodwill powertrain warranty repair.

Based on two injectors that went bad 35,000 miles after the warranty expired? Op should have purchased an extended warranty. Or run some injector cleaner every oil change.

There is absolutely no way I would even think of changing my gas buying habits based on someone saying they had two injectors go bad at 71,000 miles. It happens. Move on.

I think I would. I work with big diesel trucks. 1 truck had an injector go bad. Fixed it. 3 weeks later bad again. Ask the driver what's going on, started fueling up at another place. Changed back to our original home station, no problems. It might not be a problem and just happen chance, but it wouldn't hurt putting gas somewhere else.

Same thing for my buddy with his new Sierra, and I think he was putting Costco gas too lol, that had 4 injectors replaced at 7k miles. Switched stations no more problems.

If you buy gas from a good source (Shell, Chevron, Costco etc..) regularly, you'll be fine. I'm buying from the same sources in which I drove a previous vehicle 258,000 miles with no injector issues. If you're not having issues, one shouldn't second guess themselves because someone had two injectors go bad due to corrosion. In reality, we have no idea what kind of gas they were filling their tank with.

It was the same brand station.
Injectors going bad is very strange at that mileage. Two of them more so. I cant even think of a time its happened in any other truck we've had.

Makes you wonder if he put full ethanol or maybe gas with 15% ethanol or something in. Our trucks don’t have flex fuel injectors.

All gas is required to have additives. Costco says they have 5X the minimum required. It's probably just a defect and still not covered by warranty since that ran out long ago. Shit happens. Fix it and move on.

Usually I would agree, I've had a few 2nd gens and a 1st gen that made it past 75-200k no problems, but I decided with all the tech and the new 3rd gens to bite on the warranty. Im no amateur with a wrench, but I certainly have no idea how to fix a sunroof, or bsm or all the other nonsense in these trucks now, myself.
