Even with weld through primer the heat from the welding process is going to burn the paint off. You can prime it first but will still need to go over it with this or similar this is just what I found based on what Bill was describing to me. Seems legit and it looks like some guys have been using this in the front section of the frame that is prone to rust.

I didn't prime my plates at all because I threw a complete curveball with this to the guys and came unprepared also didn't really think about painting it until Bill said something.

What did I tell ya? Be honest with her from he get go you may have to wait a little longer to get some stuff but it is way easier in the end. One time I came home with a new hunting bow and figured she would never know the difference. All was good until a couple weeks later at a bow shoot when a buddy blurted out how much he loved the new bow. It would have been much better to have just been honest and taken the but whoopin when I got it. Form then on I discuss purchases with her first and she usually helps me fit it into my budget

Probably why she got mad when you brought my bumper home because she already knew what was in the shed

I'm bored now. Your project is done, my rear suspension got done, and the bumper is bedlined and curing in the garage. I'll give that a couple of days or until the weekend. Job interview today was a joke. I guess I am back to searching tomorrow and making some calls. I do get to take the daughter's car to NTB to get 4 tires, an alignment, and an oil change tomorrow woohoo!

I've gotten some sneak peaks it's gonna look sick!!!!! I wish I had the patience to do some awesome paint work like what Chris and @boogie3478 did on his bumper. But I just am impatient and want to get the stuff on and go wheel and not care if it gets scratched up.

Like a few months. I've got another chunk of change being thrown at the truck soon so it'll be a little bit. Hell by then I may have a welder and some more fab tools.

A welder like Randy has will do all you need to do and you can plug it into your garage.

That's what I was thinking. That little thing was quite impressive. Although I felt more comfortable using your machine the power it had was far better for the thicker stuff. But I can't justify spending that much on a welder at this time. I've got other things I need/want to buy.
