Did you remove them and paint them or tape them off and paint them? These look great.

 

i’m down for a couple months apost knee surgery stumbled across these pics taken of my truck / trailer from a gtg a little bit ago.

 

Installed these from winjet. Installation was a breeze.

 

All I see here is dollar signs. Such a rad set up all the way back to the Husky. Well done, and get well soon!

thanks luckily it’s all home made, most parts coming off Amazon. not that it was cheap but i was able to do things in chunks.

right now because i’m 5 days out of surgery there’s mostly just regret for having it done. once i can get rehabbing it and using my leg i’m sure i’ll feel different.

I heard that. Buddy put a new LEER topper on his 2017 TRD Sport 3 months before he traded the truck off. He left the topper on it and never got anything extra on his trade in. 2nd week it was on the lot the dealership sold the topper off the truck. Truck sat on the lot another 4 months before it sold.

 

Well, perhaps watch some wheel dip tutorials on YouTube to start. As far as the grille removal process I just watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4umM7jRu7k
Once you get that entire grille assembly out, I did NOT remove the chrome bezel, as its unnecessary. I simply taped off around the edge of the painted plastic bezel holder. Blue tape for painters tape and the pink could be plastic film to mask off for over spray. You do NOT have to get the tape in between the chrome bezel and the outer plastic grille. Since plasti dip peels off in a rubber sheet, you can simply peel it out of the crevice.

The trick to plasti dip is to apply 2-3 heavy coats, and to keep the coat wet the entire time between all coats. It takes alot to make it run, so be generous with it. The last thing you want is a super thin coat that you cant peel off excess/will be a pain to remove later on. With a sport grille, just make sure you hit that geometric pattern from many angles.. With the TSS Sensor and the logo, just paint right over that and when you are all done simply rub the plasti dip at one location until it peels or wears through (I did this with my finger) and then you can peel off the entire Toyota logo section in one sheet. Again, no need to tape. Hope this helps! @FLA_Hoosier

 

@FLA_Hoosier here are two shots of the TSS Sensor covered up. I just peeled off that section afterwards. Super simple.
