    Such a fun hike. But yes the creek crossing isn’t very intimidating. Crossed it in my girlfriends Tiguan back in august. If you drive past tray mountain and onto corbin creek rd there are some nice unmarked campsites nestled by the creek that aren’t too populated. One of my favorite spots to getaway!

    @CowboyTaco

    Thanks for this!

    Oh look, a map :D
    (I tried to embed, but had to settle for just the link)
    https://goo.gl/maps/1ifBuCuJpCn

    Why bother putting a map together? All you did was drive 2 roads and go on a hike. Good question. I saw several places to camp along both roads. After the High Shoals trailhead, the next 2 spots are my best guess as to the first "good" campsite I saw. This was also the most technical section that I drove. There was a fire ring and room for probably 7-10 trucks. Trees to hang hammocks along the creek. This is on the way back out/up from that campsite.

    The next two spots would be for smaller groups. Maybe 2-5 trucks.

    Next time I go, I will plan to bring a roll of trash bags and some gloves. The potential camp spot I marked that is furthest south on the map had a dump site. I was amazed/disgusted at how much trash has just been thrown in there. I'm guessing at least 3-4 trashbags full. The plus side is that it was mostly contained, but still. Whoever has been there clearly doesn't know about Tread Lightly. That's also the site closest to the highway and along Tray Mountain Rd, so I'm guessing you would expect to see a decent amount of traffic go by. The first site I marked is hands down the best option. Unless I find a better spot, that's where I'm going to plan to go next time I go camping.

    All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    Amelia Island TW Trip added to the calendar. Check it out y’all, it’s in the middle of June.

    Bust out your flippers and ya sun screen!

    Yes
    This may have already been mentioned, but what’s the closest beach that you can drive/camp on to us?

    I think Tybee? I could be wrong about camping on the beach there.
    I like that place as it is low key and easy to just kick back.

    I did some stuff.
    Nah there aren't any beaches in GA you can drive on that I'm aware of. I usually spend my entire summer weekends out on Tybee kayaking and fishing. Closest beach driving is gonna be Amelia Island / the Atlantic coast of Florida. The outer banks in NC are also an option.

    You can drive out the south end of Amelia (state park) no overnight. You can also drive out on American beach with a 5$ permit. I would suggest camping Talbot's and then spending the day at the state park.

    What about an AirB&B...or do you just not like getting cooked by the sun all day?
