I really just want something to go right right now... Went to install chandeliers last night and the wires are an inch long... Who does that.

Went to install the floor guides for the barn doors and found out that one of the doors is potato chipped so nothing lines up.

The barn door handles kicked my ass too. But they're done.

Then get to work and my software is acting up. Like unworkable. Uninstall it reinstall it. Still fucked...

I just need a fkin break. Been goin too long. At whits end.

Not to mention 10 weeks or less and twins will be here.

I've only been pushing it for a few months and I'm about to cave. Meanwhile Eddy is over here for years busting his ass. I feel like a bitch.

It's more mental for me. Getting pulled all directions. Not equipped to handle.

Take a step back and breathe my friend.

If you can't deal with stress all that well, you may need to talk to your doc and get some meds before your twins arrive. They will push you to your wits end, like really really push you to your breaking point.

Also, postpartum depression for the father is a real thing. I went through it for about the first year of our child's life. I work M-F, leave the house at 7am get home at 630-7pm, then my SO was working 6am-9pm Saturday-Sunday, so I never got a break and was going and going 24/7. Plus we had bills piling up and I had a lot of stress over our finances.

After about 9mo of it, I reached my breaking point, when I realized that I didn't give AF about my child or my own life...I told my SO what was going on and she immediately changed her work schedule and I reached out for the help I needed thanks to the benefit of free counseling my employer offers.

Life couldn't be better now, but that first year was rough as fuck.

I feel ya.. had a long weekend and came back yesterday. 5 minutes after I sit down, phone rings, "Hey Jay, this is <Administrator>. I've changed offices over the weekend. Sooo...." (pretty much, get up here and get my stuff plugged in and working). Feels like I've been running 5 directions at one time since I came back.

Right. It's not even bad yet. What happens when the kids get here and I still haven't leveled out.

The past few months has been nothing but go when I get off work. Building barn doors, painting, organizing, etc all to get ready for my beautiful daughters. Then last weekend I drove to Florida to help a friend move.

I am beyond excited for my girls. It's all I think about. I just want everything to be ready for them and to be able to provide them the best. Like any great father would. (Not doggin PPD, because I know deep down you still want the best)

When I get home tonight I'm watching a few shows and going to bed. Screw the lists.

Sometimes you just gotta walk away from shit and take a break from it all. Also, communication with your woman is key, if something is bothering you then tell her. She will appreciate your openness about it now, rather than waiting until you hit your breaking point. Mine told me she wished I had told her much sooner instead of letting it get really bad before telling her what was going on.

Sometimes shit just hits ya like a ton of bricks.

It's like my brain just lost at Jenga. Everything seems fine and then suddenly it's not.

    Rest. Reset.

My wife is incredible. She probably already knows lol. She knows all.

How do you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time.

I used to have really, really bad stress/anxiety when I worked in retail. I stayed tired and worried about things out of my control non stop. Sometimes you just gotta step back, take a few breaths, and take things one at a time. Don't worry about the big picture. It'll come into focus eventually.

You also have to know that you will not be the perfect dad and shit will hit the fan (literally and figuratively). You will get a lot of unwanted advise, both good and bad, by people around you. Trust your instincts because nothing is more primal than protecting your offspring.

Step back, deep breaths, relax, and don't sweat the small stuff. Barn doors and other material things are nowhere near as important to prepare than your health.

    You got this...

I want season 4. That'd be the perfect relax show tonight.

I'll just have to watch The Umbrella Academy.
