I had 4 dismount, 4 tpms swap, and 4 mount and balance done for $100. I don't think mounting 4 more tires is worth $160. Especially if those additional 4 aren't getting balanced.

ouch. my shop didn't charge me to mount my new set, swap the sensors, or re mount the stock set sans sensors. tires by mark in woodland hills ,ca FTW
for the record, i bought SCS wheels thru SCS and brought them in to the shop, ordered my wild peaks thru the shop and they did the work

Probably due to you buying tires.

I am bringing my own tires
I am bringing my own wheels.

So tire shop isn't able to make any other money aside from labor.

Yeah. So weird. Quote was $263. After I got it done, owner's son says "what did dad quote," I said "I don't remember." He says "if you pay cash give me $140, otherwise $160"

I said done deal. Paid the man, and got outta there, before they changed their mind. No receipt, he put the money in his pocket. Total time spent there was 57 minutes. No scratches on wheels. They were careful. Test drove it, perfect, no issues on balance etc.

Go to TPMS.com, they were $46.98/ea complete and OEM and free shipping. Don't need the extra fitting kit that Toyota sells you for another $5.00.
P/N P0106, call them if have any questions.

I bet the initial quote was under the impression that you wanted 8 mounted and balanced rather than 4. They probably overestimated the work required.

I just paid $118.00 for 4 K02's on SEMA wheels mounted and balanced with TPMS sync. I sold the Off Road wheels and tires complete so dismount or balance on those.

Agree 100%, Les Schwab has been my go to for a long time. Never had them scratch a rim or had to go back on a balance.

I had the same thing happen to me.. My new wheels and tires were set up with normal valve stems and after a week I wanted to swap them over with my old stuff. Called Big O because they were the only place open on my day off and they asked for $220.

I looked up a youtube video on how to break the bead with a floor jack, bought a harbor freight compressor for $70 and did it myself in an hour.
