If my memory serves me correct Dickel is a bit of a different beast. I don’t recall liking it to much but it’s been a year +

Anyone have more experience with the dickel stuff? Comments?

I enjoy Dickel's Bourbon from time to time, I have never tried their Rye though. It is different so I know what you mean there, and is kinda why its only periodically for me as well. I prefer my other budget (cheaper) bourbons to it, Ezra Brooks, Evan Williams, etc

They had a hand written tag next to the Dickel saying something like "better grab this, it sells out quick!". Being a Barrel Select I have to think it's an order of magnitude better than their everyday offering. Maybe next time I'll take the plunge, if they have it.

I forgot to bring up, in my local store they have a Tabasco Dickel... I have yet to work up the courage to try that... anyone here tried it?

Had a bottle of Dickel Barrel Select with my dad and brother-in-law around Christmas. We polished it in short order. Dad and I, especially, were big fans. Not comparable to Eagle Rare from a tasting notes standpoint, though, so hard to argue with having chosen ER instead (especially at the shorter price), but that Dickel is worth a shot. A drier, woody flavor compared to the rich sweetness of Eagle Rare.

I bought my dad a bottle of the Dickel Barrel Select 9 Year, but he hasn't gotten around to opening it, yet.

I really like the stuff. A shame it'll be going the way of Eagle Rare.

Anyone seen a bottle of Buffalo Trace recently? I grabbed the last one I saw a couple months ago and love the stuff...

It's plentiful here - the Total Wine always has the 750ml and 1.5ltr bottles. I still haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

Hibiki Harmony, as I suspected some time ago, seems to have disappeared. It's been months since I've seen a bottle at any store.

Good news...maybe it'll become valuable so I can trade a bottle for something that I want more.

I've only seen the 750 here. Total Wine is out of them and the grocery store chain I got the last bottle from is out. I'm hoping to see a resupply soon, I had a tasting last weekend and I'm almost out after everyone agreed that it is amazing.

I bought a .750 of BT today. I can get it regularly around here. Good thing, cause it's my favorite bourbon.

Trying to decide if I'm gonna make a trip back to where I got mine last weekend to snag a couple more bottles myself. Bourbon/Whiskey hype is just getting crazier and crazier.

That's just nuts, every ABC store I've been in lately has at least a bottle or two in stock. That's a recent development too. Around Christmas it was nowhere to be found.

Same for my part of the world. My local shop kept them in the back and everywhere else it was nowhere to be seen. Lately I see them at 1/2-2/3rds of the stores I visit.

Last year I had bought an extra bottle to use as trade bait, but I don't see it being worth much now that other people in my area can get it fairly easily.

A small corner store has had about 7 bottles of BT on their shelf @ $26.99 a pop for some time now, while other shops close by never seem to have it in stock. Same place also had this deal on Auchentoshen American Oak. I've never tried it, but at that price might give it a go.

That's pretty damn cheap for a 1L bottle. I tried that one pretty early on in my scotch journey and it was closer to 40 bucks for a 750.

Has anyone actually tried the Legent bourbon? It's out now and I can't fiit in my area, however it looks like I can get it on line. The reviews are mixed. It appears it retails for about $35, but the online place sells it for $48 plus whatever shipping costs. I'll probably wait it out to see if any show up around here at some point.
