Girlfriend advice

Alright guys I need some help here. I've been dating this girl for more than 2 years now and she had smoked cigs a couple times before we started dating. I let her know that I can't be with someone that smokes and she promised me she wouldn't. Well she broke her promise the first time last year and i forgave her. She came over today and I could smell it on her and I flipped because I couldn't believe she broke her promise two times. I love her to death and she only smokes when she's really stressed (from her mom mostly) but I don't want her to get addicted. She said that it's her life and I can't make decisions for her. What do I do?

 

Deal with it or end it. You don't have the tolerance, so there isn't much of a gray area.

 

Help her find an alternative to help cope with stress. Getting mad at her will only build resentment. Be on her team.

 

Tell her it's the cigs or you. She'll make the choice. If she goes back on it again, leave her... b/c she's a liar.

 

smoking is gross, but if they are not willing to work with u on it, either live with it or i guess you could break it off. it seems kinda dumb if you would break it off just over smoking tho especially after 2 years.

 

yea it doesnt sound like its only been twice. i dont care how stressed people get smoking is the last thing that comes up in a nonsmokers head for stress release. Also, the fact that she promised then got defensive about it. "its my life bla bla bullshit" just shows she doesnt care what you think. Makes me wonder what else she is doing behind you back that she shouldnt

Jonah, What else has she lied to you about? What else will she do that you don't like because she's "stressed out"? Ask your self "would I put up with this if she was ugly and fat"? If the answer is no, move on. Love is not enough.

 

See. That's why girls don't like you. Your too rough. You gotta be gentle and stroke it just right.

 

If its a huge deal just leave her. Plenty of other girls out there. Plus being single isn't that bad, more money in your pocket

 

Actually, a lot of girls like it rough. your just too sissy.

 

First, you can't control women, and you shouldn't want to (intentionally or otherwise).

Second, my best advice would be to try making her life less stressful and, thereby, reduce her cigarette 'trigger'. You be the judge on what accomplishes that end....

Third, don't post sh!t about gf's on the internet (good or bad, unless they're in on the posting)...they'll find out, and be pissed off at you for it (i.e., deception; lying by omission; etc.).

I agree. There are litterally billions of girls out there. Subtract the ones with aids in africa and the ones that are way out of your league and there are literally millions of girls out there for you. Smokes are so 1940s. Kick that hoe to the curb and get yourself a real lady.

 

just tell her to hit you up when shes stressing and you'll go down on her which will lead to sex afterwards. boom. problem solved.

win win for both parties.

 

accept her as she is or end the relationship before it gets too serious.
