Not curbside, no. SA surely has a place like Green Guy in San Marcos. Google that, get the guidelines, and you will know where to dump it.

 

The plugs on the gizmos are all micro USB of some sort,,,, so I bought cheap cables to sacrifice the big end.

 

Makes sense. I like wiring, but I hate the brain power of IQ 60+ required to build busses and switch panels

 

No knocks on all the panels and switches available, and they make it a very safe way to install all the add-ons that all the serious modders want! For my feeble needs, I would see no more that two switches down by the fogs for anything I would do, and for that, I would buy a small panel.
Give me a chance to put my little project together - it can wire to existing stuff in top console, it's simpler than it seems.

I've got to chase a few of your "typical" wiring jobs and replace with proper solder and QD waterproof connectors. I'm wiring up a third brake light for my Softopper either tomorrow or Friday when the parts come in, and I'll be soldering in the splices to the brake lights from the prior Cap Third brake light wiring job done by a previous owner. I also need to clean up the wiring to the battery and make a determination of if I need a dual battery setup this year, or alternator upgrade to make up for higher drains. I've also been converting a lot of non essential lights to LED to reduce the potential load. I also need to go back into the radio install and properly ground the parking brake dvd disable wire so it's not in the position it's in and solder the splices the installer used.

 

Your 09 has a lot more sensitivity to wiring and voltage use that my 07. Between those two years, they changed a LOT on the harnesses and electrical, so while the same truck, not the same animal. Happily, replacing simple things with LED is mostly penalty free. I did have to replace the flasher relay when we converted to LED.

I might have an electrical party this summer if I get the damn garage cleaned out. You'd be welcome if you still have needs.

 

I forgot to snap pics but does anyone need my worn out suspension? I replaced everything today and I’m gonna trash them unless for some reason someone wants them. Took the fronts out in one piece top hats and all. I’ll be headed to SA next Monday night and be there for 8 days and I can bring it all with me. Free.99.

 

I would be down for that, if I have the need. I think my truck came with the higher output alternator, but i haven't had any noticing dips in power while running everything. The problem is i haven't finished the foglight wiring, installed the ditch lights, 2nd third brake light, and ran everything with the high beams on and using the winch. I'll pick up a cheap multimeter tomorrow and check the current system at the battery terminals with it running to get a baseline of draw, and check at night to see if I can see the lights dim with the winch.

 

I live a much simpler life digging mulch and such! But I gotcha'!

 

I like that. I'm planning on making a trip to SA this weekend, if needed I can TW express it sooner.

Tuning in, lol. This is essentially my indefinite vacation, until I figure what I want to do, or go to school for something I want to do, and it's been almost 24/7 getting my truck the way I want it. My poor Harley has been neglected, but I think it's for the best.

 

On the lower note, Gas Co. replaced the grass over the hole, and where the stump was ground. Can't argue with a fair deal. Now, bear in mind that that a back hoe BEAT the ugly stuff back into the hole, and they did remind me that I need to water new grass. (Duh). Mr. Dilligent comes homes from Lowe's today to find that the grass has SUNK 4" over the crypt!









Well shit. Life goes on, does it not?

 

Remove sod chunks, refill with dirt, water, aerate then recheck?
